This particular book nearly presents a complete narrative, yet there are glaring unresolved threads. Consequently, simply finishing this book on its own leaves one feeling dissatisfied. It is absolutely essential to read this series in order. Regarding the characters from the previous series, the author provides us with the crucial details. However, as I was reading, I clearly realized that I was lacking something since I had not read the earlier books.

The title truly speaks for itself. The story is, in fact, largely predictable, with some aspects being more easily foreseeable than others. Nevertheless, it is a remarkable and touching tale. As I frequently do with books where God plays such a significant role, I wish it were a true story or based on one. This is because while a human author can assume the role of a god in the fictional world, only the true God can make such things actually occur in reality.

Meanwhile, the author is quite the teaser. The book is filled with numerous little teases. There are chapters that conclude in suspense, only for the next one to commence elsewhere. There are chance meetings that are of great significance, yet the characters do not recognize this at that particular point in the story. In a similar vein, there are statements and thoughts by the characters that they have no inkling of how they are either completely untrue or, at other times, prophetic. There is love that appears to have no hope.

There are a plethora of characters and a multitude of story threads. Most of them revolve around Dayne and his unbeknownst biological family.

The climax is extremely moving.

This is a Christian book. Kingsbury often employs the actions of the characters to convey a message rather than relying solely on words, but in this book, she uses both.
