I am financially illiterate, which is why I grumbled when my book club picked this. But it’s a very easy (i.e. no financial intelligence needed) read, and I found it to be incredibly inspiring (and convicting

Whole book could be shorter by two-thirds than it is. The content is always debatable, too. Example: he claims that one of the best ways to get rich is by doing ‘network marketing’, which is literally scamming people (look up pyramid scheme, Ponzi scheme, MLM to check how it works (these are all synonyms of the same thing)). The book and the author was very hyped so I read this and was left disappointed. In fact, Kiyosaki claimed that in reality there were no ‘two dads’, which ofcourse is nothing surprising. What’s more, the author himself had a few bankruptcy cases, tax-avoidance cases and did some buisiness-related activities with Amway (one of the most known MLM company). However, somehow he’s still rich. Truth is, most of his income is generated by selling these books, webinars and other similar his own MLM promoting tools and not by what he claims inside the book. Fun fact: his MLM also went bancrupt recently. In conclusion, distasteful book written by a shady author. Disappointed.

Great lessons in this book and a lot for material to change your way of thinking about money. But kiyosaki’s attitude in this book is too “you can do what you want but if you don’t do as I say, you’re dumb”

Had never thought about writing any book review this soon. But succumbed to feeling of disgust I experienced while reading this book.

Book is highly repetitive. Author just goes on and on and on and on explaining precisely what he has already done in his 1st book Rich Dad Poor Dad, which is still a readable one. If one wants to read any book of this author, one should read Rich Dad Poor Dad and then completely drop the idea of reading any of his books further.

Author talks about taking weekend courses in the book. He needs to take some weekend classes on English, since the language of the author, by no means, is better than that of a 7th grade student.

He indeed knows how to sell things. He just keeps on selling his books and board games throughout the book. He’d compel one so hard to buy his $8-each-and-worth-not-even-a-buck-books that one would eventually end up buying his books or board games.

This 370+ pages book (length of the book may vary depending upon the edition one may read) can be summarised in 2 pages of A4 Size.

A highly overrated book!

“You can never have true freedom without financial freedom.”

“But I knew there was more to life than just going to school to gain another professional credential.”

“Rich dad taught me that “you can’t do that” doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t. It more often means they can’t.”

“Most people go to school and learn to be players in the game, but no one explains the rules to them.”

I fell in love with this book already from the first pages. It was so hard for me to stop reading it and do something else. There are rarely books who make me fall in love with them so hard. But it was like the author spoke about the things I knew so well. It strengthened my belief that I’m on the right path and my convictions aren’t so crazy.
What I really like about it was the fact that it made me look different at a business. For example, it’s not that wise to put an emphasis on the product itself, but rather on the business system. It was fascinating to discover new ideas, this one being one of them.
Definitely recommend this to anyone, no matter if they are into entrepreneurship or not. It will change your perspective about a lot of things. One of my favourite books now.
One downside is that it has a lot of information that the author keeps repeating.

If you can get past the insane repetitiveness this book has some golden principles to live by.
This book should be read every 5-10 years or so to remind yourself of what's most important and how to stay focused.
Invest in assets that generate you income, lend money to get interest not the other way around, stop accumulating liabilities or else you will fall into the debt trap and never be financially free.
Invest in cash flowing rental properties, invest in the stock market but actually go against the masses and don't diversify.
Just because you paid off your house doesn't mean it's not a liability anymore. You still have to pay city taxes, utilities, insurance, etc. A house is only ever not a liability when you're cashflowing.
The fact that this book has a ton of repetitive filler and yet I still rate it 5/5 stars should tell you something ;)

If Rich Dad Poor Dad is roun 1 then Cash Flow Quadrant would be round 2 of the Rich Dad series of Robert.

It's an incredible book simply because it lays down some harsh truths very few people know.

It tells you what to call an asset and what to call a liability.
- Home that we live in won't be an asset until the house is a net positive entity [annual income it generates if any exceeds the annual expenses on the house]. In most cases, house that we live in generates 0 income while it has lots of expenses [in the form of taxes, maintenance, renovation, utilities etc]

It divides income streams into 4 quadrants & goes into great detail about each of those types.

I liked how it talked a lot about developing a mindset to make money and how it's up to one's owns actions only.

I bought this book 2 years ago and never really sit down with it when I really should.

This is more of a 4.5 star book. Half star deducted because he kept repeating on the later half and the book feels less organized. There are some areas that, for example, he said buying a property is bad for most people even you have the cash, but he didn’t went further to explain why. There are also stories that didn't go into more details, but suddenly just worked out. At most, this is a book to help you figure out which quadrant you’re on, but it won’t help you much if you want to move quadrants.

Having that said, it’s eye opening for me when he first introduce the quadrant and how people move it. The book provided a good basic about asset and liability, and I love many quotes that he shared from his rich dad.

It shares a lot of issues and views that I’m aware. Perhaps it would be even more beneficial if I read this 2 years ago. Anyways, I would recommend everyone to give this book a read to figure out where and what you want to be.
