Exciting, chilling and awesome!!!!

These words truly capture the essence of an experience that is both thrilling and captivating. It could be a heart-pounding adventure, a spine-tingling horror story, or an awe-inspiring spectacle that leaves you breathless.

When something is exciting, it fills you with anticipation and energy. Your heart races, your eyes widen, and you can't wait to see what happens next. It's that moment when you're on the edge of your seat, completely engaged and invested in the experience.

Chilling, on the other hand, sends shivers down your spine. It's that sense of unease or fear that creeps in, making you feel a little bit on edge. It could be a cold, dark night, a strange noise in the distance, or a terrifying encounter that makes your blood run cold.

And when something is awesome, it's simply amazing. It's that moment when you're faced with something so magnificent or extraordinary that you can't help but be in awe. It could be a beautiful sunset, a towering mountain range, or a once-in-a-lifetime event that leaves you with a sense of wonder and appreciation.

Together, these three words create a powerful combination that describes an experience that is truly unforgettable. Whether it's an adventure, a story, or a moment in time, something that is exciting, chilling, and awesome has the ability to leave a lasting impression on our hearts and minds.

This story starts out in a fun way, and the main character (MC) is pleasant enough that one would enjoy hanging out with her. However, the love interest presents a problem. Just the week before, he was dating her sister, and now he spends a significant amount of time lying to her. Despite not wanting her involved in whatever is happening in London, he insists on inviting her there. None of his motives seem to make any sense, and when his actions are closely examined, they don't hold up. The conclusion of the story requires multiple monologues, which can make the whole thing feel a bit tiring.

It's clear that this is not the author's finest work. The plot has several holes, and the characters' actions and decisions lack coherence. While the initial premise may have been interesting, the execution falls short. It seems that the author could have done a better job of developing the story and resolving the conflicts in a more satisfying way.

Perhaps with more careful planning and attention to detail, this could have been a more engaging and enjoyable read. As it stands, though, it leaves the reader with a sense of disappointment.

This story is more of a straightforward mystery compared to The Devil On Lammas Night, which had a certain degree of nuttiness. However, it still manages to be highly enjoyable.

The plot unfolds in a way that keeps the reader engaged from start to finish. The mystery elements are well-crafted, with enough clues and red herrings to keep you guessing.

The characters are also well-developed, adding depth and authenticity to the story. You can't help but become invested in their lives and the outcome of the mystery.

Overall, this is a great read for those who enjoy a good mystery without all the crazy antics. It's a refreshing change of pace that will leave you satisfied.

Not bad, but I didn't find it as engaging as other Susan Howatch books such as The Devil on Lammas Night.

The story had its moments, but it didn't quite grip me in the same way.

The characters were well-developed, but perhaps they lacked that certain spark that would have made them truly memorable.

The plot was interesting enough, but it seemed to drag in places, making it a bit of a struggle to get through at times.

Overall, it was an okay read, but it didn't live up to the high standards set by some of Howatch's other works.

I was disappointed that it didn't have the same level of excitement and intrigue that I have come to expect from her books.

However, I still appreciate her writing style and the effort she put into creating this story.

Maybe it just wasn't the right book for me at this time.

I will definitely give her other works another try in the future, as I know she is capable of producing truly outstanding novels.

I read this one many years ago also, and enjoyed it. It was like a wonderful adventure that took me to a different world. The story was engaging, and the characters were vivid and interesting. I remember being completely immersed in it and couldn't put it down.

However, a recent re-read didn't hold up for me. Maybe it was because my perspective had changed over the years, or perhaps the story that once seemed so captivating now felt a bit flat. The characters that I had loved before didn't seem as charming, and the plot didn't have the same impact.

It's interesting how our perception of a book can change over time. What we loved as a child may not have the same appeal as an adult. But that doesn't mean that the book is bad. It just means that we have grown and changed, and our tastes have evolved.
