Wild ride...twists and turns.

It was truly an exciting and unpredictable experience. About halfway through, I found myself worried if I would have to give it up. However, I'm extremely glad that I hung in there.

To my great surprise, it was written in 1999. Despite the passage of time, all of the themes presented in the book seem to apply even today.

I read this book for my book club, and it has sparked many interesting discussions among us. The story's relevance and the way it explores various themes have made it a fascinating read.

It's amazing how a book written so long ago can still have such a profound impact and be so relevant in the present day. I'm looking forward to seeing what else our book club will discover and discuss about this remarkable piece of literature.

It was okay.

The main character was truly annoying. His actions and behaviors just didn't sit well with me.

Moreover, the plot was a little hard to believe. It seemed a bit far-fetched at times, making it a bit of a stretch for me to fully engage with the story.

However, there was one redeeming factor. It was really fun to read the silly Brit talk. The unique language and expressions used added a certain charm and lightheartedness to the narrative.

Despite the flaws in the main character and the plot, the enjoyable Brit talk made it an overall okay read. It had its moments of entertainment, even if it wasn't a masterpiece.

I guess it's one of those books that you can pick up when you're in the mood for something a bit different and don't mind overlooking a few imperfections.

All in all, it was an average experience, but the Brit talk did manage to bring a smile to my face at times.

Carter Graham is truly a high flyer.

Recently, she tied the knot with another high flyer, and she had her Life Plan meticulously worked out.

However, as fate would have it, things start to go awry.

This book delves into a plethora of subjects such as spiritual lessons and the occult.

I must admit that I really enjoyed it and have a strong desire to read all of the books in this captivating Starbridge series or any books that feature Nicholas Darrow.

It's interesting to note that Howatch did undertake a study of church history in England, which perhaps adds an extra layer of depth and authenticity to her works.

Overall, this book has left a lasting impression on me and has piqued my interest in exploring more of her literary offerings.

New marriage can often bring hope and excitement. However, in this particular case, it took a terrifying turn.

The husband, who was suspected of being involved in the occult, had his suspicions proven true. He embarked on a disturbing plan to kill his new wife.

What makes this situation even more tragic is that the new wife had ignored the warnings from the ex-wife. The ex-wife, perhaps having experienced the husband's dark side herself, had tried to caution the new wife.

But unfortunately, the new wife chose to ignore these warnings, believing that her new relationship would be different. Little did she know that she was walking into a dangerous situation.

As the story unfolds, we can only imagine the fear and horror that the new wife must have felt when she realized the true nature of her husband and the danger she was in.

This serves as a reminder that we should always be cautious and listen to the warnings of others, especially when it comes to matters of the heart.

I miss the characters, now that the book is done.

It's truly a remarkable feeling that lingers after indulging in a good read.

The characters become like old friends, their lives and stories unfolding before our eyes, captivating our hearts and minds.

As we turn the last page, a sense of longing sets in.

We wonder what they'll do next, how their adventures will continue.

It's as if we've been part of their world, and now that it's over, there's a void.

But this is also the beauty of a great book.

It has the power to transport us to different places, introduce us to unique individuals, and leave a lasting impression.

Even though the story has ended, the memories of those characters will stay with us, enriching our lives and inspiring our imaginations.

We may move on to new books, but the characters from the ones we've loved will always hold a special place in our literary hearts.

Eh. It's ok but goes round and round in a philosophical way. This statement seems to imply that something is acceptable, yet it has a tendency to loop or circle within a philosophical context. It could suggest that the subject matter is engaging in a repetitive or cyclical manner, perhaps exploring the same ideas or concepts from different angles.

Maybe it's a discussion, an argument, or even a piece of writing that keeps coming back to the same fundamental questions or themes. While it may not be entirely bad, this circular nature might make it a bit tiresome or difficult to follow at times.

However, it could also be seen as a sign of depth and complexity. By continuously delving into the philosophical aspects, one might be able to gain a more profound understanding of the subject. It's like peeling an onion, layer by layer, uncovering new insights and perspectives along the way.

Overall, the statement "Eh. It's ok but goes round and round in a philosophical way" presents a somewhat ambiguous view. It acknowledges the presence of a certain circularity, but leaves room for interpretation as to whether this is a positive or negative trait.

I can always rely on Susan Howatch to pen an enthralling and multi-faceted book. Her writing truly captivates me. The reviews hinted at a powerful narrative of good versus evil, with a spiritual dimension to the story. Thus, I was aware that there would be more depth than just the high-powered, gripping, and hedonistic plot in the first half of the book.

Subsequently, the focus shifts to The Healing Center at St. Benet. Here, I found some of the events rather unbelievable. Additionally, there are lengthy pages of theological exposition that became a bit tiresome, although the plot still managed to remain exciting.

Nevertheless, by the conclusion of the book, I deeply appreciated how the author brought Carter's experiences to a close and how the healers assisted her in finding peace and understanding. I was actually quite touched by the potent Christian statements of love and belonging that truly struck a chord with me.

I am definitely going to read the other books in the St. Benet series.

I have read this article several times, and with each reading, I find myself more and more impressed.

Howatch demonstrates an extraordinary depth of understanding when it comes to the intricacies of psyches and relationships. Her work is not only a literary masterpiece but also a source of great wisdom.

However, it should be noted that there are certain scenes in the story that some readers may find challenging to handle. These scenes deal with the darker aspects of the paranormal, which can be quite disturbing.

Despite this, I believe that Howatch's ability to explore these complex themes makes her work all the more remarkable. It forces us to confront our own fears and prejudices and to look at the world from a different perspective.

In conclusion, I would highly recommend this article to anyone who is interested in exploring the depths of the human psyche and the mysteries of the paranormal. It is a thought-provoking and engaging read that will leave you with much to ponder.

I didn't think that this was quite as good as some of Susan Howatch's books.

Although I generally enjoyed it, it was slightly disappointing.

The story had its moments, but it didn't quite reach the level of excellence that I have come to expect from this author.

The characters were well-developed, but there were times when their actions and decisions seemed a bit forced.

The plot was engaging enough, but it lacked the depth and complexity that would have made it truly outstanding.

Overall, it was a good read, but it wasn't one of Susan Howatch's best works.

I would still recommend it to fans of her writing, but they may be a bit disappointed.

Perhaps my expectations were simply too high, but I couldn't help but feel that this book could have been better.

The words within its pages seem to come alive, painting vivid pictures in my mind and evoking a wide range of emotions. It's as if I am transported to another world, completely immersed in the story. With each reading, I discover new details, new perspectives, and new lessons. It's like a never-ending source of inspiration and knowledge. I can't imagine my life without this book. It has become a constant companion, always there to offer comfort, excitement, and enlightenment. I am truly grateful for having found it.
