This book was a well-written suspense, and it was so creepy and disturbing at the beginning that I really struggled to finish it.

However, once I managed to do so, I discovered a main character who was on a serious and genuine spiritual journey of the toughest kind. She was surrounded by truly caring ministers from (gasp!) mainline Christianity.

I absolutely loved it when she said that her drive for material success was just as brainwashed as fundamentalist religion but far more socially acceptable. It was such a thought-provoking statement.

Sometimes, the deepest parts of the book occurred as monologues. Although they could have been more artfully presented, they were still profound. They made me stop and think about various aspects of life, faith, and society. Overall, this book was a unique and engaging read that left a lasting impression on me.

Gripping as the story may be, the British clichés are indeed starting to feel rather tedious. Phrases like "Fruity Loops" and "Nutterguff" seem to give the impression that the heroine is lacking in education. It's a bit off-putting, to be honest. However, despite this minor flaw, I am still very much looking forward to seeing how the story resolves. There's something about it that keeps me engaged and eager to find out what happens next. Maybe it's the mystery that surrounds the plot, or perhaps it's the well-developed characters. Whatever the reason, I'm hooked, and I can't wait to see how it all ends.
