I have been a die-hard Emily Giffin fan for a long time. I firmly believe that she always provides her readers with excellent storytelling. She is extremely good at narrating the lives of women. In her latest novel, guilt, love, and forgiveness are the main focuses. The events of this novel revolve around a tragedy that has a profound impact on all the characters. The book gradually unfolds to reveal how each person reacts to that tragic event.

This was a relatively quick read, yet it also contains a great deal of substance. The complex nature of family relationships is explored very well in this novel. Although it may not be as outstanding as some of her earlier works, I truly enjoyed reading this one. The character development in this novel is one of its greatest strengths. The characters are vividly portrayed, and they explore the nuances of behavior in real life. One of the things I adore about Giffin's novels is how skillfully she depicts women characters, flaws and all.

Overall, I really liked this novel. Although it may not be her strongest piece of fiction, it is still really good. If you are a fan of Giffin, you should definitely pick this one up! It is well worth the time and effort to read it!

NOTE: This book was provided to me free of charge by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

First Comes Love is an adorable summer read that centers around two sisters who are grappling with the search for happiness.

Fifteen years ago, their dear brother Daniel met his untimely end in a car accident, and since then, no one in the family has been able to fully move on from his tragic death.

Although both Josie and Meredith have pursued their respective careers and Meredith even has a husband and daughter, the two women find that true contentment still eludes them.

As the anniversary of Daniel's death draws near, both Josie and Meredith come to the realization that they must start to mature and finally let go of the past.

The characters in this story are extremely well-developed and highly realistic. I found myself growing increasingly fond of Josie as the story unfolded, and her best friend Gabe was a character who was written in a truly wonderful way.

However, Meredith's character really grated on me.

Overall, First Comes Love is an easy and enjoyable read that also made me reflect on the significance of family and the process of grieving. I am grateful to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
