Nyskilt på første klasse is an absolute delight.

From the very beginning, it had me in stitches, and I couldn't help but grin throughout most of the book. There was a constant smile on my lips as I delved into its pages.

The story is filled with a whole bunch of coincidences and complications that keep you on the edge of your seat. And yet, despite all the twists and turns, it ends in the most perfect way possible, right after my head.

The Debutante Divorce is truly a gem. It's the kind of book that you can pick up when you need a good laugh. It will brighten your day and leave you feeling uplifted.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a lighthearted and entertaining read. It's one that you won't want to put down until you've reached the very end.

If you want to know about the lives of New York socialites and husband hunters, this book offers the complete picture.

I just have to say, "I can't do it, Captain!" This book is truly that bad. I simply cannot finish it. If my interest lies in hearing about fabulous fashion, I would much rather reach for Harper's Bazaar. And if I'm keen on learning about wonderful vacation homes, Architectural Digest is my go-to. But I just CAN NOT handle any more of Sykes' "characters". If this is what is considered "chick-lit", or as some authors of this genre like to call it, "chic-lit", then please count me out. It's just not for me. I'm looking for something more engaging, more interesting, and this book fails to deliver on all fronts. I'm disappointed and frustrated, and I'm ready to move on to something better.

While I thoroughly enjoyed "Bergdorf Blondes," this particular book presented a bit more of a challenge for me to engage with. It was indeed funny and well-written, as I discovered. However, I think the entire concept of marriage and divorce isn't something I can fully relate to at this point. The characters, too, seemed a little hard to believe. I have no doubt that there are individuals in the world like those portrayed, but the idea that they would all be concentrated in the same place struck me as rather far-fetched.

This book caught my attention solely because of the author, and I used it as a break from my Harry Potter reading. It was a light and enjoyable read, and if you're simply seeking a beach book or something cute and pleasant, this would be a great choice.

A finished unsolicited copy was provided by the agency for review.

I was well aware that this book would employ the same name-dropping and brand-conscious approach as the first one. Therefore, I didn't anticipate falling in love with it. However, despite feeling annoyed when descriptions of socialites and their lives were interjected, I still found this book a bit more likable than Bergdorf Blondes. This story revolves around marriage, trust, and loyalty. Sylvie is highly influenced by her recently divorced friends, especially her best friend Lauren, who coins the term "debutante divorcee" and even goes on a divorce honeymoon and throws a divorce shower. I wasn't overly surprised by this as I've read about such things and people actually do have them to celebrate being single again.

I liked this book to a certain extent because Sylvie, who has just gotten married, has doubts about her new husband. All the signs suggest he might be having an affair, and it's in her best interest to uncover the truth with evidence. I found her friends to be quite supportive, although they could be very frivolous and flaky at times. They still had her back. Even though Sylvie didn't go crazy like most women in her position would, I felt that she learned her lesson and came to find trust in her husband and herself. I thought the ending was very cute, with a little twist that was rather sweet. Although the story was predictable, I thought the book was okay, but it still didn't resonate with me. I have little knowledge of the socialite life, and I don't particularly care either.

Overall, I would recommend this book to women who enjoy their chick lit with a touch of haute couture.

A little silly, but makes you laugh...and a very quick read.

Can people really be this 'flaky'? I suppose they can!

It's quite astonishing how some individuals can be so unreliable and inconsistent.

They make plans and then suddenly change them without a second thought.

It's like they have no sense of commitment or responsibility.

But despite their flakiness, there's something endearing about them.

Maybe it's their ability to always find an excuse or their knack for making light of a situation.

And while it can be frustrating at times, it also provides plenty of entertainment.

You never know what they're going to do next, and that's what makes them so unpredictable and funny.

So the next time you come across a flaky person, just sit back, relax, and enjoy the show.

Because you're in for a wild ride!

I actually listened to the audio CD version of this book.

I have to say that I was truly impressed by the narrator. Her voices were nothing short of fantastic. With each different character, she was able to bring them to life in such a vivid way that I really felt as if I was right there with them.

The storyline of the book was also quite cute. It wasn't one of those life-changing, profoundly deep novels that make you think about the meaning of life. But that's okay, because sometimes you just need a light and enjoyable read. And this book definitely fit the bill.

What really added to the enjoyment was the couple of twists at the end that I simply wasn't expecting. They added an extra element of excitement and kept me on the edge of my seat.

Overall, I would highly recommend listening to the audio version of this book. It's a great way to relax and unwind while enjoying a charming story.

I am truly not a fan of translated novels. Usually, I prefer original Indonesian novels or original English novels. However, some time ago, I tried to buy and read this translated novel. And yes, I was disappointed.

I don't know where the problem lies. Whether it's in the story that is really not very interesting, or in the translation that is extremely stiff and not pleasant to read. I couldn't even finish 2 chapters! So sorry...

Maybe it's because the translator didn't do a good job in capturing the essence and flow of the original text. Or perhaps the story itself wasn't strong enough to begin with. Whatever the reason, this experience has only strengthened my preference for original works. I believe that reading an original novel allows you to fully appreciate the author's style, language, and creativity. While translated novels can give you access to a wider range of literature, they often fall short in terms of authenticity and quality.

When I first started reading this book, it was extremely difficult for me to get into it.

I have to admit that I don't like reading books of this kind at all.

However, after persevering through the first couple of chapters, something changed.

I gradually got into the story, and to my surprise, it turned out to be a rather good book.

Overall, though, it's not the absolute best.

I just wish it hadn't taken such a long time for me to pick up the pace and get fully engaged.

You don't even get to the actual plot until around the middle of the book.

The first couple of chapters seem rather pointless and could have been more engaging from the start.

Despite these flaws, the book still managed to capture my interest eventually.

Aku kasih 3.5 bintang. Ya ampun, aku selalu terhibur baca tulisan mbak Plum. Lucu, kocak, segar, sekaligus ada pesan sosialnya. Sejak baca Bergdorf Blondes, kayaknya aku udah cinta mati sama gaya penulisan mbak Plum. Mbak Plum oke banget deh :D

Aku suka banget twist di ending novel ini. Mbak Plum sukses mengaduk-aduk emosiku soal Sophia sekaligus bikin aku ngikik kesenengan baca ending-nya. Penyelesaian yang membahagiakan semua orang. Itu chic banget! (mulai ketularan Lauren) :))

The writer gave 3.5 stars. Oh my goodness, the writer is always entertained when reading Ms. Plum's writing. It's funny, hilarious, fresh, and at the same time, it has a social message. Ever since reading Bergdorf Blondes, it seems like the writer has fallen in love with Ms. Plum's writing style. Ms. Plum is really great :D

The writer really likes the twist in the ending of this novel. Ms. Plum successfully stirs up the writer's emotions about Sophia and at the same time makes the writer giggle with delight when reading the ending. A conclusion that makes everyone happy. That's so chic! (starting to be influenced by Lauren) :))

This book was just okay.

On one hand, I managed to get through it quickly, which means it wasn't so bad that I didn't have the desire to pick it up and read it. However, on the other hand, I found all the constant name dropping of clothing designers, artists, and so on a little bit boring.

The storyline itself was just average. I thought that the way the main character had her head in the sand to some extent and didn't question some of the things that people said and did in the novel seemed a little unrealistic.

I purchased this book because I got it at a 75% discount at the store. With that in mind, it was okay. But truth be told, I wouldn't be willing to invest any more than that in it. It didn't really capture my attention or make me want to explore more of the author's works. Overall, it was a somewhat forgettable read.

I was sitting in a sandwich shop in Cambridge, engrossed in reading this book.

All of a sudden, some pretentious patrons started whispering among themselves about my choice of reading material. Their obvious disdain actually had the opposite effect on me and made me like the book even more.

In my opinion, the greatest strength of The Debutante Divorcee lies in its unwavering frivolity and silliness. It's a lighthearted read that doesn't take itself too seriously.

However, it's a pity that Sykes' formula of inane storytelling, which involves fashionable and wealthy New York girls jetting around the world in search of love, worked better in Bergdorf Blondes.

Perhaps in this book, the formula feels a bit tired or overused. Nevertheless, I still managed to enjoy the book for its entertainment value and the escapist world it creates.
