Deciding what score to give to Viento y ceniza, the sixth installment of the Outlander saga, has been a tough call for me. On one hand, I really liked it. There is a lot of action, more than in the previous book, and many things happen that will leave you speechless, both good and not so good. New subplots are opened, and others are closed, such as the ones related to Stephen Bonnet, Ian's past, or Malva Christie, among others. I have to say that I laughed out loud more than once, as the characters are very charismatic and the author is an expert at inserting some absurd situations to lighten the mood.
However, there were moments when it felt a bit heavy, and there were certain chapters that the author could have skipped without affecting the plot. Nevertheless, it has been a reading that I have enjoyed. As always, there is a great evolution on the part of the characters, both main and secondary, compared to the previous book. Regarding the cast, we can't complain, as many characters that we already knew appear, as well as new ones, which will bring new mysteries and surprises.
It is also worth highlighting the great research work carried out by the author throughout the entire saga. She manages to create a very faithful atmosphere of the time, and the small fantastic elements that appear seem perfectly real and believable, just like her characters. I am really looking forward to picking up the next one to see how the story continues after that ending. In addition, I am extremely curious to know how life is going for Lizzie and the Bearsdley, because my goodness, the mess they got themselves into, hahaha.
Highly recommended
