This book was truly amazing, just like Jodi's other remarkable works.

A young girl's life was completely turned upside down when her parents got divorced.

As a result, she starts to recite scripture and experiences symptoms of stigmata.

The characters in this book are so vivid and real that they seem to jump off the pages.

The plot of the story unfolds in a very smooth and engaging manner, keeping the reader hooked from beginning to end.

It explores themes such as family, faith, and the power of hope in the face of adversity.

Jodi has once again proven herself to be a master storyteller, able to create a world that is both believable and captivating.

This book is a must-read for anyone who enjoys a good emotional and thought-provoking story.

Kinda typical J.P. novel...

There is a lawyers' trial at the end, etc. It wasn't bad and I like to read her books every now and then as a "break" from more serious literature. Her books are an easy and fast read, and her characters are interesting and (generally) likable.

This book had a unique twist in that the 7-year-old child supposedly "sees God" and performs "miracles". It's a good topic, which made for some interesting reading about how crazy religion really can be and how it divides people.

I liked how the Rabbi and the Priest kind of end up as buddies...LOL. It shows that despite different religious beliefs, people can still find common ground and form friendships.

Overall, it was an enjoyable read that provided some light entertainment and food for thought.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a quick and easy read that still has some depth and substance.

I didn't like the way the story developed and I hated the ending. I had the feeling that it gave me almost no answers and that the author ended up getting lost in the story.

It's a disappointment since this is one of my favorite authors. I was really looking forward to this book, expecting a great plot and a satisfying conclusion. However, as I read on, I found myself越来越frustrated. The story seemed to be going nowhere, with too many loose ends and unanswered questions.

By the time I reached the end, I was left with a sense of dissatisfaction and confusion. I don't know if the author intended to leave things open-ended or if she simply couldn't tie up all the loose ends. Either way, it was a letdown for me.

Despite this, I still have hope for this author. Maybe this was just a one-time miss and her next book will be better. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for her future work.

This book was, on the whole, rather good.

It truly had the ability to keep you engaged and reading, constantly wondering what was going to unfold next and, of course, the all-important question of WHY!?

However, there were a few aspects that did bother me.

I felt that there were an excessive number of questions left unanswered.

I understand that perhaps this was done deliberately, but from my personal perspective, I didn't care for it.

I was also somewhat put off by the fact that the story was related 'about' several different characters in the third person, yet ONE character was presented in the first person.

This didn't seem logical and was a bit confounding initially.

Overall, though, it was a powerful narrative that compelled you to think, regardless of your own personal beliefs.

It made you reflect on various aspects of the story and how they might relate to the real world or your own experiences.

Despite its flaws, it still had the power to draw you in and make you consider different perspectives.

Absolutely fascinating!

I truly love the diverse range of themes that emerge while reading this book. The blend of religion, with its presence in the court and the concept of stigmata, along with the exploration of psychological and medical aspects, and the complex family dynamics, makes it an extremely engaging read. This has definitely been one of my favorite Jodi Picoult books to date.

My reading marathon now continues with "Change of Heart"!

Overall, my short and sweet assessment is that it has an interesting story and entertaining characters. It keeps you hooked from start to finish, making it a great choice for anyone who enjoys a thought-provoking and engaging novel.

The way Jodi Picoult weaves together these various elements is truly masterful, and I can't wait to see what she has in store for us in her next book.

The original article seems a bit unclear. It might be something like: "The story is about a person's experience."

Here is the expanded version:

The story is a captivating account of a particular person's experience.

It delves into the details of their journey, filled with various emotions and challenges.

We follow this individual as they face obstacles and make decisions that shape their path.

The narrative unfolds, revealing the highs and lows, the moments of joy and the times of despair.

Through it all, we gain a deeper understanding of this person's character and the lessons they learn along the way.

This story serves as a reminder that everyone has their own unique experiences that contribute to who they are.

It invites us to reflect on our own lives and the experiences that have made us who we are today.

This is not merely a tale about a little girl who might or might not be in conversation with God.

It is, in fact, a story about her Mum, Mariah, a woman grappling with the turmoil of her marriage.

She is filled with self-doubt, constantly questioning if she is even a good parent.

Mariah is someone with whom we can all identify at certain moments.

Her life has not been a bed of roses, especially in her relationship with her husband.

She has always felt inadequate, and now her daughter appears to be communicating with God.

How does one handle such a situation?

Mariah must gather her courage and pick herself up.

Even though her marriage is on the verge of collapsing, she has to be there to support and safeguard her daughter.

This is a story of a woman's arduous journey from self-doubt to discovering her own inner strength.

Yes, there is a central storyline about a little girl, Faith, and her imaginary friend who seems to be none other than God.

There is also a gripping courtroom drama regarding the custody of Faith.

But ultimately, it is a story about uncovering one's self-worth and self-belief.

I found this book to be exquisitely written and extremely easy to read.

It definitely earns five stars from me.

I always commence the year with a Jodi Picoult novel.

This particular one was, as always, extremely well-written and thoroughly researched.

However, the three-star rating stems from the fact that I didn't truly feel invested in the subject matter.

Moreover, I failed to really connect with any of the characters.

The ending remained somewhat vague as well.

Although it's not my favorite of hers, she still holds the title of my favorite author.

Her ability to craft intricate stories and develop complex characters is truly remarkable.

Even when a particular book doesn't quite resonate with me on all levels, I can still appreciate the skill and artistry that goes into her writing.

I look forward to reading more of her works in the future and seeing how she continues to evolve as a writer.

Perhaps the next book will be the one that truly captures my heart and becomes my new favorite.

Jodi Picoult has once again delivered a captivating story that leaves readers in awe. Her work is truly remarkable, and this book is no exception. I had read "House Rules" earlier this year, and this is only my second book by her in 2012 (having read 9 of her books in the last 4 years). It's also the first book I've picked up since meeting her in February.

The story begins with Mariah White, a woman who was once suicidal after her husband Collin cheated on her. She had wanted to end her life, not realizing she was 4 months pregnant at the time. Collin had her committed to an institution, but when he found out about the pregnancy, they got back together. Their daughter, Faith, was the one thing Mariah thought was keeping them together.

One day, while taking Faith to her ballet lesson, Mariah discovers Collin's car in the driveway. She had thought he was on a business trip, but instead, she finds another woman in her bedroom. Collin leaves with Jessica, serves Mariah divorce papers, and ends their marriage. Mariah begins to suffer from depression again, and this is where the story takes off.
Faith starts making claims that she has a new friend, and at first, the adults think it's just an imaginary friend. However, after Faith starts quoting the Bible and healing people, a child psychiatrist is consulted, and people begin to believe she is seeing God. The White family is not religious, and Faith has never seen a Bible before, so this causes a stir.
The media gets wind of Faith, and a circus shows up outside their home. Ian Fletcher, an atheist who makes a living proving people are fake, finds out about Faith and begins to investigate. Mariah takes Faith into hiding and meets up with Ian by coincidence. The two begin to develop romantic feelings for each other.
Collin stays true to his word and sues Mariah for custody of Faith. The trial portion of the story begins, and a guardian ad lidem is appointed to determine which parent should have Faith. In the end, the judge rules that Faith will stay with Mariah and see her father every other weekend.
Overall, I loved this book. It had a little something for everyone, even though it had a lot of religion in it. However, there were a few things that bothered me. For example, the incident at the circus where Faith falls off the elephant and gets sliced in the back was never really addressed again. It seemed like a big part of the story that was just left hanging. Additionally, I would have liked to know more about Jessica's feelings and how she fit into the story. The multiple point of views also got a bit confusing at times, and I didn't like the switch from 3rd person to 1st person. Despite these flaws, I would still highly recommend this book to anyone.

This book had a profound impact on me.

I firmly believe that it was the specific timing and the unique circumstances that surrounded me at that time which made its influence so powerful.

Truly, I had an intense love for this story. The development of the characters was remarkable, and I thoroughly enjoyed witnessing their growth and transformation.

Moreover, the journey of faith presented from all perspectives was both captivating and inspiring.

It made me reflect on my own beliefs and values, and it opened my eyes to new ways of looking at the world.

This book will always hold a special place in my heart, and I will cherish the lessons and emotions it evoked within me.

I picked this up at the beach house we were visiting.

The story, about a little girl talking to God, was interesting enough to keep me engaged until the end.

However, it also served as a reminder of why I'm no longer interested in her books. The characters are often predictable, and they're always embroiled in some over-arching legal battle.

It's a bit of a one-note formula that has lost its charm for me.

Oh well, at least it was a good beach read. It passed the time and provided a bit of entertainment during my stay at the beach house.

Maybe I'll give her another chance in the future, but for now, I think I'll look for something a little more unique and unpredictable to read.

This was one of the books neatly lined up on the shelf at our family cabin. So, on a whim, I picked it up to read during my vacation. Oh, what a colossal mistake that turned out to be!

I ended up staying up way past my bedtime, determined to finish it. But now, I'm truly upset about the precious hours of sleep that I lost. The story follows a young girl whose parents are going through a divorce. She starts speaking to God, or does she? The plot is filled with all the predictable cliches you can imagine. There's a protective yet complicated mother, a cheesy romance with the antagonist who suddenly turns into a good guy, and to top it all off, they don't even fully explain anything in the end. It's just a big disappointment. Boooo! I'm definitely not a fan of this book.

I really wish I had chosen a different book to read. Maybe the next one will be more engaging and less frustrating.
