Ne, ne, ne.

Such chick-lit books are simply not for me.

I just barely managed to finish this one.

For a long time now, I haven't come across such a bad and predictable story.

The characters seemed one-dimensional and the plot was full of clichés.

It lacked any real depth or originality.

I found myself constantly rolling my eyes and sighing.

There was nothing in it that could capture my interest or make me feel any kind of emotion.

I'm really disappointed that I wasted my time on this book.

I hope that in the future, I'll be more careful when choosing what to read and avoid such disappointments.

Maybe I should stick to my favorite genres and authors instead of taking risks with something new and untested.

At least that way, I know what to expect and can enjoy the reading experience without being let down.

Picoult books have a reputation for being somewhat manipulative, and in some cases, this can work to great effect when it shakes up the narrative and keeps readers on their toes. However, this particular offering was a disappointment for me.

It adhered to the typical vignette style of writing, which can be engaging when done well. But unfortunately, there was an abundance of extraneous filler material that detracted from the two main storylines.

The court case procedural aspect was passable, but it didn't really stand out or offer anything new. On the other hand, the relationship story was truly terrible. The characters were nothing more than dumb stereotypes, making consistently bad decisions without any real consequences.

Overall, this book failed to capture my interest and left me feeling rather underwhelmed. It seems that Picoult's formula didn't quite hit the mark this time around.
