4.5⭐ This is truly great as always! The work presented here is of high quality and has many outstanding features. However, there is one small drawback. The ending seems a bit abrupt. It feels as if the story or the discussion just stops suddenly without a proper conclusion or transition. It would be beneficial to check for any triggers that might have caused this abrupt ending. Maybe there were some elements that were not fully developed or tied together properly. By carefully examining these triggers, it is possible to improve the flow and coherence of the piece and provide a more satisfying ending for the readers.

Really good!

Jodi Picoult always has the ability to handle a tough and sensitive topic with great skill. In this particular case, it is the issue of rape, presented in a he-said-she-said context. She masterfully turns the plot and keeps the readers constantly guessing about what is truly happening.

The entire story is filled with twists and turns that had me second guessing everything I thought I knew. It was a thrilling and engaging read from start to finish.

However, there was one section about Alaska that I didn't quite enjoy. It seemed a bit out of place and didn't really add much to the overall story. It felt strange and didn't make a whole lot of sense in the context of the narrative.

Despite this minor flaw, I still thoroughly enjoyed the book. I have always been a fan of Jodi Picoult's work, and this one was no different. She has a way of drawing the reader in and making them care about the characters and their stories.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good mystery or a thought-provoking read about complex issues.

This book was truly an amazing read.

Told from the perspective of the girl's father, it vividly unfolds the story of a family whose life is suddenly shattered by the daughter's accusation of rape. The father, a talented comic book writer, ingeniously relays his side of the story, along with his deep worries and complex thoughts, through his latest comic book narrative. In this story, the hero is a father who is plunged into the depths of hell in a desperate attempt to bring his kidnapped daughter back to him. As he enters, what he discovers is truly astonishing. Instead of himself, he finds that it is a beast, an animal within him that has entered hell. This beast is willing to do absolutely anything to save and protect his daughter.

The mother, a teacher well-versed in Dante's Inferno, also plays a crucial role in this book. Her presence is felt even before the daughter claims to have been raped by her boyfriend, who had broken up with her just weeks before.

Primarily, this book delves into the profound bond between a father and a daughter, and explores what parents are willing to do and transform into for the sake of their children. It is a powerful and thought-provoking exploration of love, sacrifice, and the lengths a family will go to in the face of tragedy.

4.5
This wasn't my absolute favorite Jodi book, but it also wasn't my least favorite.

As is always the case with Jodi's works, this book was extremely well researched. The author clearly put in a great deal of effort to ensure that every detail was accurate and well-presented.

The writing style was also excellent. The prose was engaging and flowed smoothly, making it easy for me to get lost in the story.

One of the things that I really liked about this book was the inclusion of some biology. As someone who has an interest in the subject, it was great to see it incorporated into the narrative in such an interesting and accessible way.

Overall, while this book may not have been my top pick from Jodi, it was still a very enjoyable read and I would definitely recommend it to others.

Of all the JP books I’ve read, this is the one I like the least.

It fails to capture my interest from the very beginning. The story seems to lack depth and originality. The characters are not well-developed, making it difficult for me to connect with them on an emotional level.

The writing style is also rather平淡, lacking the vivid descriptions and engaging dialogues that would have made the reading experience more enjoyable.

In addition, the plot progression is slow and predictable, leaving me feeling bored and unfulfilled.

Overall, this JP book has left a lot to be desired, and I would not recommend it to others.

Although I had perused a considerable number of Jodi Picoult's books, I harbored doubts regarding this particular one.

The reason being that it incorporated a substantial amount of material presented in comic-strip format, and I have an absolute aversion to comics or graphic novels.

However, my concerns were unfounded as the story flowed just as smoothly when focusing solely on the text.

In fact, especially after enduring the tiresome writing and despicable characters in Mercy, I was truly astonished by the engaging storytelling and rather well-developed characterizations.

Picoult's meticulous research into modern adolescent sexual behavior and the lives of native Alaskans truly breathed life into the book.

Nevertheless, the only aspect that slightly dampened my enthusiasm was that the ending was somewhat predictable and was resolved in just a few lines. I would have preferred it to be more drawn out.

Perhaps, this is the hallmark of a great read - when you find yourself longing for it to continue just a little bit more!

It was an okay book.

The story had its merits. There were certain aspects that were quite engaging and held my attention. However, there were also some parts that seemed overly long and didn't really contribute significantly to the overall narrative.

One aspect that I found lacking was the ability to empathize with any of the characters. I just couldn't seem to connect with them on an emotional level. Maybe it was the way they were written or the lack of depth in their personalities.

Overall, while the book had its good points, it also had some areas that could have been improved upon. It wasn't a terrible read, but it also didn't leave a lasting impression on me.

I would probably rate it as average and would not be in a hurry to recommend it to others.

Jodi Picoult has been a favorite author of mine since high school. The first book of hers I read was Picture Perfect, and I eagerly devoured more of her novels. The Tenth Circle is one of the most poignant I've read. As a parent, it made me question my morals and how far I'd go to protect my children.

Trixie, the 14-year-old daughter of Daniel and Laura Stone, is dealing with the breakup of her relationship with Jason. She lies to her father about a party and ends up in a dangerous situation. When she returns home, she tells Daniel that Jason raped her.

While Trixie faces social repercussions at school, Daniel and Laura have their own issues. Daniel has secrets from the past, and questions arise about whether Trixie is telling the truth and if Jason is really the villain.

The book references Dante's Inferno and the comics add a nice touch. The characters go through hell until the end. While Daniel and Trixie's characters are well-developed, Laura and Seth's are not, and the ending is abrupt and leaves some uncertainty.

Overall, I enjoyed rereading this book. It was fresh and made me question my own beliefs. Jodi Picoult has once again inspired me to reread her works. 5*****

Well That Left a Dirty Taste in My Mouth

Jodi Picoult novels have always been a bit of a guilty pleasure for me.

The first one I read, "My Sister's Keeper," truly touched my heart. After that, I delved into several more of her works, which I found entertaining enough, but nothing really stood out as truly special. For instance, "Vanishing Acts," "Plain Truth," and "The Pact" all felt somewhat similar, almost like reading the same book with different characters and settings.

And then came "The Tenth Circle." The story of Trixie and her boyfriend, along with the rape accusation she levels against him, really upset me. First and foremost, Trixie lies to the police on several occasions. She herself brought the date rape drug to the party, although she doesn't remember how she ended up consuming it. Then, she allows the police to believe that her ex-boyfriend drugged her, even though there is no indication that he had any knowledge of the drugs being at the party, let alone gave them to her. She didn't say no because by then the drug had made her incapable.

The novel also makes a connection to the Yup'ik natives in Alaska, among whom her father was raised, and how to them, unspoken wishes are still considered real. However, the ex-boyfriend either kills himself or is killed by one of the family members when his entire life crumbles in front of him. He loses his scholarship to play hockey and discovers that he will be tried as an adult. Given the tendency in society for people to be skeptical of rape accusations, I found the plotline of this novel to be deeply disturbing.

Jodi Picoult is indeed one of my all-time favorite authors. I have been gradually delving into each and every one of her novels, savoring the unique worlds she creates. However, "The Tenth Circle" didn't quite meet my expectations.

Compared to her other works that I have devoured, something just felt amiss in this particular novel. There seemed to be an overwhelming amount of elements and storylines交织在一起, which disrupted the natural flow of the narrative.

The inserts of the graphic novel or comic book, instead of enhancing the story, felt rather disjointed and failed to contribute significantly to the overall plot.

Moreover, I found myself unable to connect with any of the characters. Their actions and motives often seemed unconvincing, leaving me with a sense of detachment. As a result, there were certain parts of the novel that left me feeling a bit bored and disinterested.

Overall, while "The Tenth Circle" was a pleasant enough read, it was ultimately forgettable. It lacked the usual lyrical beauty and captivating storylines that have made Jodi Picoult's other novels so memorable.
