Got a better look at the bad guys in this volume… They’re creepy and disturbing, but I guess that’s the point. I did not see the twist coming with one of them in particular! It makes me intrigued about how the plot might continue to develop.

And then there was a nice dose of humor with not one, but two new characters (both from the same country) randomly fainting in the streets. I have a sneaking suspicion it might not be so random, after all.

En la octava entrega siguen los Elric con su enfrentamientos con los villanos del mal, descubriendo nuevas caras, pero desconociendo algunas duales. Mientras tanto, la división alquimista descubrirá una trama relacionada con la piedra filosofal y topos en sus filas.
En este numero se definen aún más los bandos antagonistas, además de una decantación de posturas en la mayoría de los personajes clave de la serie (o los que lo serán). Hay bastantes giros y sorpresas al respecto..incluidas algunas muertes inesperadas ( y algo tristes por el tipo de personaje..que daba de sí) e incursión de nuevos villanos, y otros simpáticos pero disparatados, con un presumible potencial en la contienda bélica. Amen de la reaparición de un villano transmutado, que da el toque de un humor la mar de negro (pero que provoca risa, por el personaje).
Otro gran tomo, sin duda alguna.

Nooooo how can the president be evil!! I was just saying in the last volume that he’s my favourite. In this volume it transitioned to Greed, for sticking up and being true to who he was, even if he knew that he’d die for it

This is probably the best book in this series.

Not too bad. I really don't see what the hype is about. Ah well. =)

This started stronger, but the story sort of stops dead to introduce 2 new characters from Xing. Both are after the secret to immortality, so I wonder if they also have issues with the same illness that killed the Elric brothers’ mother.

The start with President Fuhrer moved the story forward in a worrying way (for Al). It’s obvious the military is doing some shady things and trying to quiet the details about chimera’s and the philosopher’s stone.

I think the next volume will be better.

If I'm being perfectly honest, I didn't love this volume. I think there was too much going on, too many plot lines, too many characters to follow. I also didn't really care for any of the new characters that were introduced and there wasn't enough overall plot progression for my liking either. I did enjoy seeing Winry again, however.
