I FINALLY READ MY FIRST MANGA HEEELL YEAAAH MILESTONE!!!

As predicted, since I have already watched its anime countless times (5), an absolutely breathtaking work of art. Kept me hooked in ever scene and the artwork was simply brilliant! Seeing some of my timeless favorite characters in their original form brings many warm lovey feelings into my heart

I cannot believe that Mustang burned Maria Ross it was traumatizing and yet I feel like he did not… there were two chains on her hands that belonged to someone else? Maybe that Ling or Lang Guy….

And havoc’s new gf is Lust omg this is not going well… moving on to when Ed, Al and Winry found out about Hughes death :(… that was so heartbreaking but as what Hughes’s wife said and Winry, they cannot stop now then it will be all to waste…

Barry the chopper is under mustang team’s surveillance and when he met his body!!! That was shocking I was like they put someone else’s soul like an animal soul in his body. So weird and twisted.

But let me tell you what shocking, HOW MANY SOULS ARE IN ENVY’s BODY

Terminado el primer tercio del manga. Como he dicho en anteriores reseñas, este manga merece mucho la pena. Sin embargo, creo que voy a darle un descanso hasta nuevo aviso, sino puede que me obligue a leerlo y sea peor.

Once again, the action is fierce as the intrigue deepens. The actions of the two brothers, Eric and Al, start to have consequences that are felt even by them. The philosophy of alchemy, a balance of nature, starts to become a major theme of the story. It shows a depth to the storytelling that makes this one of the better manga series out there, and makes me want to read more of the story. The only real problem is that it feels like this installment of the story seems to be more set-up for what should play out to be a greater story. The military is infiltrated by the seven deadly sins, and it becomes hard to distinguish who has been compromised and who is on the same side of the brothers. Eric and Al seem more like pawns in a bigger story and they are yet to realize that this is true, and the two new characters from across the desert make their presence known as I yet have figured out which side they belong on. It is an all around fun story that I am enjoying reading.

Two differences I noticed were Hawkeye and Mustang meeting Winry again, that was fun! And the Elrics finding out about Hughes via newspaper.
Gotta say that even on paper I adore Mrs Hughes. She deserved more page/screen time.

Nastavljamo priču nakon ubistva potpukovnika Hjuza. Mustang samostalno istražuje ubistvo, a braća Elrik još uvek ne znaju za smrt prijatelja.
Mračne sile konačno izlaze u javnost. Dobijamo dosta akcije, adrenalina i šokantnih saznanja.
Arakava upotpunjuje priču odličnim crtežima, sa dosta detalja. Saznajemo i neke bitne detalje o umešanosti vojske i visokih zvaničnika u celu priču.


Naredna dva tankobona su dublja i više stresna za likove, ali i za čitaoce. Priča dobija emotivnu dubinu, ako tako mogu reći. Pojavljuju se likovi iz prošlosti, a i otkrivaju se neki detalji iz detinjstva Edvarda i Alfonsa. Dobijamo više poglavlja koja se fokusiraju na braću, njihov odnos, detinjstvo i borbu.

Neki od meni dragih likova gube život ili budu primorani da završe svoju borbu i time "ispadaju" iz priče. Verujem da će tako biti i u narednim tankobonima, jer je priča dostigla opasniji i ozbiljniji nivo od onoga kako je počela. Uprkos tome što sam kao dete gledao anime, ne sećam se većine radnje. Tako da mi skoro sve dođe kao novo i priča me oduševi.

Kada ste okruženi sumnjivim likovima, kada ne znate kome da verujete i ko je na vašoj strani... snaga je u bratstvu. Konačno imamo velike i brutalne okršaje suočenih strana. Međutim, tu je i poznati humor autorke na koji sam navikao. Generalno, dopada mi se drama koja se odvija. Dopada mi se što ništa nije zagarantovano i ne znate ko će preživeti, a ko ne. Ne znate u koga da sumnjate, osim naravno već potvrđeno loših likova. Čitajte Alhemičara!

el volumen justo acaba cuando se viene la desgracia

Volume 9 of Fullmetal Alchemist of Fullmental Alchemist by Hiromu starts an interesting arc that explains how soul transference works. Some of that was hinted at in Volume 8 but it's here that it comes to disturbing fruition.

Barry the Chopper is the key to this unsettling revelation. When he goes missing, his keepers send his body to find him. A body needs a soul to function and as Ed and the ex-death-row prisoners haves demonstrated, a soul can even animate a suit of armor. But a soul can't stay forever where it doesn't belong.

Back in Central, the cover up begins. Too many questions have been asked about Hughes's death. Questions lead to investigations which could lead to plans being revealed too early. In a show of efficiency, 2nd Lt. Maria Ross is investigated, arrested and convicted for his murder.

I suppose the Barry plot should be the most disturbing part of this volume but it Maria Ross's story that got to me. Her arrest shows how vulnerable all members of the military are, especially the non-alchemists who only have their weapons to use as defense. But even the "dogs of the military" can be put down if they disobey.
