I liked this book better than her 2015 book which repeats many of the same story.

She was still married during the writing of this book and she sounded super grounded in spite of her family tragedies.

I felt her writing was more personal as well as consistently real and coherent in this book.

Combining her mindset and the different yoga poses with her stories was a nice idea.

Her transition from telling about the different poses at the beginning of each story ironically flowed well.

She kept me interested in her memoir until the very last page.

This book truly stands out. It offers a unique perspective and a more in-depth exploration of her life. The way she weaves together her personal experiences with the elements of yoga is both engaging and inspiring.

Unlike her previous work, this book feels more fresh and original. It shows her growth as a writer and as a person.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in memoirs or yoga. It is a must-read for those who want to gain a deeper understanding of the author's life and journey.

Part yoga, part memoir, this work presents a rather unique blend.

It has its interesting aspects that draw the reader in, perhaps offering insights into the world of yoga or personal experiences that are engaging.

However, it also has its moments of boredom, where the narrative might seem to drag or the content becomes less captivating.

The author has a more recent memoir, which piques my curiosity. I would like to give it a read at some point in the future.

But for now, I'm in no rush. I'm content to let it sit on my to-read list, waiting for the right moment when I'm in the mood to immerse myself in her new literary offering.

Who knows what new adventures and perspectives it might hold?

I had the impression that the yoga aspect didn't quite blend in with the remainder of the story.

However, it was truly fascinating to learn about the Hemingway family.

Their lives seemed to be filled with drama, passion, and a certain allure.

Reading about their various experiences and the events that shaped them was both engaging and enlightening.

Perhaps the inclusion of the yoga was an attempt to add a different dimension or a contrast to the overall narrative.

While it might not have seamlessly integrated, it still provided an interesting tangent that made me think about different aspects of life and how they can intersect.

Overall, despite the slight misalignment of the yoga with the rest of the story, the exploration of the Hemingway family was a worthwhile read that left me with a deeper understanding and appreciation for their complex and captivating history.

I truly enjoyed Mariel Hemingway's authenticity in her life.

It was remarkable how she could relate the challenging situations she faced in her life to a specific yoga asana.

This unique approach of hers really inspired me to take my own yoga practice to a deeper level.

Her story made me realize that yoga is not just about the physical postures but also a powerful tool for self-reflection and growth.

By connecting our inner experiences with the external practice of yoga, we can gain a better understanding of ourselves and find the strength and resilience to overcome life's difficulties.

It is interesting and beneficial for understanding her life. However, apart from a few pages at the back, it is not very helpful for practicing yoga. It is a fragmented biography related to different poses. Perhaps it would be more useful if I were to practice yoga and have a sense of what the poses are like.


Nevertheless, it did inspire me to get my foot in good condition so that I could give yoga a try. I believe that once I start practicing, I may be able to better appreciate the content of this book and how it relates to the actual practice of yoga. Although it may not be a comprehensive guide for beginners, it does offer some valuable insights and perspectives on the subject.


Overall, while this book has its limitations in terms of practical yoga instruction, it still has its merits in terms of providing an interesting and engaging look at the life and experiences of the author. I will continue to explore the world of yoga and see where this journey takes me.

I have a great fondness for the connection that the poses have to her life.

Often, I find it rather effortless to separate the physical aspect of yoga from its spiritual side.

To be honest, I don't consider myself to be a very spiritual person in and of myself. However, I do have a genuine interest in reading about those individuals who are.

A triangle pose, for instance, is not merely a source of discomfort or a pain in the ass. It holds a much deeper significance.

Perhaps one day in the future, I will be able to uncover and truly understand that meaning for myself.

Until then, I will continue to explore and learn, hoping to gain a better appreciation for the spiritual essence that lies within the practice of yoga.

Who knows what revelations and insights await me on this journey of discovery?

Maybe it will be a life-changing experience that will open my eyes to a whole new world of possibilities.

Only time will tell.
