King's narration of this tale truly deserves a five-star rating. His voice brings the story to life in a remarkable way. However, the story itself doesn't quite appeal to my personal taste. I have this vivid imagination of John Cusack taking on the role of the reporter. So, when I read it on the page, it creates a very distinct mental image for me. But when I listen to King read, it's as if I can't quite envision Cusack in that role. Instead, my mind ends up picturing Gary Bussey, just like in the movie Point Break. Nevertheless, it's still a great way to kill time while I'm packing. It provides a bit of entertainment and distraction during this otherwise mundane task.

I really liked it.

To be honest, it wasn't very bloody.

It met my expectations.

I would recommend it.

This is a concise review that expresses a positive opinion about something. Maybe it's a movie, a book, or a game. The fact that it wasn't overly violent is a plus for the reviewer. Meeting expectations is also an important factor in determining whether something is worth recommending. Overall, the review gives the impression that the thing being reviewed is of good quality and would be enjoyable for others.

It would be interesting to know more details about what exactly the reviewer liked and why it met their expectations. This could help others make a more informed decision about whether to check it out for themselves.

Perhaps the reviewer could expand on the plot, the characters, or the special effects. They could also compare it to other similar works and explain what makes this one stand out.

In any case, this short review has piqued my curiosity and made me want to learn more about the subject.

Poor

Poverty is a complex and pervasive issue that affects millions of people around the world. Those who are poor often struggle to meet their basic needs such as food, shelter, and clothing. They may lack access to quality education, healthcare, and clean water. The causes of poverty are numerous and can include factors such as unemployment, low wages, discrimination, and lack of access to resources.

Living in poverty can have a significant impact on a person's physical and mental health, as well as their social and economic opportunities. It can lead to feelings of hopelessness, stress, and depression. Children growing up in poverty may face additional challenges such as poor nutrition, limited educational opportunities, and a higher risk of developing health problems.

Addressing poverty requires a multi-faceted approach that includes policies and programs aimed at promoting economic growth, improving access to education and healthcare, and reducing discrimination. It also requires the efforts of individuals, communities, and governments working together to create a more just and equitable society.

I wanted to start reading books by Stephen King and decided to begin with this one because it is short.

Honestly, I don't know what grade to give it. Although I liked the story, I didn't quite understand the ending.

I will try to read more from this author. However, I still have some confusion about this particular book.

Maybe after reading more of his works, I will have a better understanding and be able to appreciate this one even more.

I'm looking forward to exploring the other stories that Stephen King has to offer and seeing how his writing style develops and evolves.

Hopefully, I will gain more insights and have a more fulfilling reading experience in the future.

"Soy yo" means "It's me" in Spanish. This simple phrase can carry a lot of meaning and significance.

It can be used to identify oneself, to claim ownership or responsibility, or to express a sense of identity or individuality.

When we say "Soy yo", we are making a statement about who we are and what we stand for. It can be a powerful affirmation of our self-worth and confidence.

In a world where we are often bombarded with messages and expectations from others, it can be easy to lose sight of our true selves. But by remembering and asserting "Soy yo", we can stay true to who we are and make choices that are in line with our values and beliefs.

So the next time you find yourself in a situation where you need to assert your identity or make a statement about who you are, don't be afraid to say "Soy yo". It may be a small phrase, but it can have a big impact.

"Pranzo al Gotham cafè" begins with Diane's divorce request to Steve. It's a sudden demand, delivered in a note she leaves for her husband, emphasizing her dissatisfaction and immediate departure from the marital home.

Steve takes the news badly. For a moment (perhaps the most beautiful scene in the story), he opens the window on the 14th floor and looks out. He doesn't jump, but throws out all his cigarettes. He decides to quit smoking. And maybe that's what "saves" him.

His lawyer calls, telling him he can't attend the meeting with him, Diane, and her lawyer due to some family problems that require his presence elsewhere. He advises Steve not to go alone, but Steve wants to see his almost ex-wife one more time. So on the appointed day, he arrives at the Gotham cafè, greeted by a strange waiter who takes his words badly, as if he knows him and asks him not to bring the dog inside. Too bad he doesn't have a dog, but an umbrella he bought in a small shop (I like to imagine it was the same one where the painting was bought in Rose Madder, but that's just my fantasy).

Steve reaches Diane and her lawyer, and from that moment on, it will be a crescendo of tension that will lead to someone's death, many being injured, and a finale that didn't leave me with that taste, that shiver that other King stories have managed to give me.

Steve's considerations are interesting, but not that disturbing, not surprising, and what I expected.

It reads well, but the story didn't grip me like other times, like in other stories (I think of Laurie, and thinking of Laurie, it occurred to me that here too, at the Gotham, a dog is mentioned, but there is no dog, it's a memory... I'll have to go back and reread King's other novels to confirm my doubts about the presence of dogs in every novel or almost).

For this reason, my vote is 2 stars, but more out of love for the author than for this story. If you want to start reading King, don't start here: it's not bad, but it's not among the best either, it's a King that seemed incomplete to me.

Happy readings and until next time!

The statement "Que bien refleja la pasión del divorcio. Y la locura." is truly an interesting one. It seems to suggest that divorce can be a manifestation of intense passion and perhaps even a touch of madness. Divorce is often a complex and emotional process, filled with a wide range of feelings. There may be the passion of standing up for oneself and seeking a new beginning, but also the madness that can come with the breakdown of a relationship. It can be a time of great turmoil and upheaval, as people try to come to terms with the end of something that was once so important to them. However, it can also be a time of growth and self-discovery. As we reflect on this statement, we are reminded of the many different aspects of divorce and the powerful emotions that it can evoke.

Una historia que se disfruta más estando ilustrada

Previously, I had already read this short novel by King as it is compiled in Todo es Eventual. At that time, I didn't enjoy it that much. I mentioned that I thought it was a rather long story and not so entertaining. However, the illustrations drawn by Javier Olivares add a sparkle of detail that enhances not the story itself but the experience.

It's not to consider it the best, but the fabulous illustrations fulfill their purpose of entertaining more than the text-only version does. And, in case you have doubts, my original opinion of the story said: "I have lunch at the Gotham Café. 2.5*. Just like other stories in this collection, it's not that it's bad but it also fails to be completely attractive. In this particular one, I think the biggest problem is the length of the story which could have been compressed a bit more."

Moreover, it pales in comparison to some of the stories included in that collection.

This shows that while the story might have had its flaws in its original form, the addition of illustrations has managed to give it a new lease on life and make it a more enjoyable read. It goes to prove that sometimes, a little visual enhancement can make a big difference in how we perceive and engage with a piece of literature.

Reading this was quick, it was more like something to pass the time, but what can I say... I didn't like it.

It's true that slasher genre interests me, but this one didn't strike me as interesting at all.

The drawings also didn't appeal to me much. They seemed rather ordinary and didn't have that wow factor that would make me engaged. Maybe it's because the story didn't have enough depth or the characters weren't developed well enough. I was hoping for more intense and thrilling moments, but it just fell flat for me. Overall, it was a bit of a disappointment.

In my opinion, this is a story that lacks more intrigue and suspense.

It was very short and strange, and I couldn't connect with it, and it was difficult for me to understand because of the same reason.

The characters were very x. And I feel that for a "horror" book, I didn't know where to find the horror.

Guy was the simplest villain that Stephen King could have written... I think it lacked more background story to be better.

My rating is 2.5 stars. It's a story that is not at all memorable.

The illustrations, however, seemed incredible, 10/10.

This is an amazing book on audio CD that is read by the one and only Stephen King!

His unique style and the way he comes up with those "made up" words are truly hilarious. It's like he has a magical touch that can make you laugh out loud even when the story is supposed to be scary.

As I listen to the audio, I find myself completely immersed in the world he has created. The combination of his engaging narration and the spooky plot keeps me on the edge of my seat, yet at the same time, I can't help but burst into laughter.

Stephen King has this incredible ability to blend humor and horror seamlessly, making this audio CD a truly unforgettable experience. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good scare and a good laugh.

Freedom without purpose is meaningless when nothing is under our control.......

Freedom is a precious concept that many people strive for. However, simply having the absence of restrictions does not guarantee true fulfillment. When we have no control over our lives, our actions, and our circumstances, freedom can seem empty and unfulfilling.

True freedom comes with responsibility and the ability to make choices that align with our values and goals. It requires us to take ownership of our lives and actively work towards creating the kind of world we want to live in. Without this sense of purpose and control, freedom can become a burden rather than a blessing.

Therefore, it is important for us to reflect on what freedom truly means to us and to ensure that we are using it in a way that enriches our lives and the lives of those around us. Only then can we experience the full potential of freedom and find meaning and purpose in our existence.
