Definitely not the best book by Stephen King. I liked the atmosphere and the scenery description. The author managed to create a spooky and mysterious ambiance that kept me engaged throughout the story. The detailed descriptions of the settings added to the overall charm of the book. However, the plot is a very weak side. It lacked depth and complexity, and the story seemed to unfold in a rather predictable manner. There were no real surprises or twists that would have made the reading experience more exciting. I found myself getting bored at times and had to force myself to continue reading. I would never believe it was written by King, considering his reputation for creating thrilling and engaging plots. Overall, while the atmosphere and scenery were well done, the weak plot detracted from the overall quality of the book.
Bloody Read is an interesting and perhaps a bit mysterious concept. It could refer to a book or a story that contains elements of bloodshed and violence. Maybe it's a thrilling mystery novel where the plot thickens with each bloody clue. Or perhaps it's a horror story that sends shivers down your spine as you read about the bloody scenes.
The term "Bloody Read" might also have a more figurative meaning. It could describe a reading experience that is intense and emotional, as if it were bleeding with passion and drama. It might make you feel a range of emotions, from excitement and anticipation to fear and shock.
Whether it's a literal or a figurative interpretation, a Bloody Read is sure to capture your attention and keep you on the edge of your seat. So, if you're looking for a reading adventure that will get your heart pounding and your blood flowing, then a Bloody Read might be just what you need.
A note lies on the dining table, a note that changed everything.
Steve Davis never imagined that after two years of marriage to his beautiful Diane, everything would end with a note. It had to be a very bad joke, but no, Diane wanted a divorce and nothing and no one would make her change her mind.
Two weeks later, Humboldt, Diane's lawyer, proposes a lunch at the Gotham Café with his wife. Steve wants to see her, he has to restore their relationship, but the encounter will not be exactly idyllic. There are many psychopathic minds among us all.
If you have had the opportunity to read the great Stephen King, there is no need for me to tell you how brilliant and wonderful his narration is. And if you haven't read anything of his yet, what are you waiting for?
"Lunch at the Gotham Café" is a short story that first appeared in the anthology "Dark Love", a collection of dark stories. The edition by @nordica_libros has less than a hundred pages and can be read in one breath. Moreover, it is full of illustrations that I personally loved, as they are very in line with the story.
In this story, Stephen King breaks away from the paranormal to bring us a terrifying, delirious, and slightly surreal story that urges you to read it in one go. A story that, despite having a rather simple plot, immerses you in a tense atmosphere.
I want to emphasize that this story is very short. For this reason, the characters, the plot, and even the setting are quite simple. Among its pages, you will not find an impressive novel, but you will find a story that will make you spend an entertaining time and that will make you not want to set foot in a restaurant again, at least for a while.
