მთლიანად კითხვის პროცესი ერთი სიტყვით შემიძლია შევაფასო: დამთრგუნველი

رواية كنت أحلم منذ زمن وأمني النفس بقرائتها، نظرا لانجذابي للكتاب ومشتقاته فكان شوق ليس بالبسيط يشدني لامتلاك هذه الرواية والغوص في قرائتها، ولكن أنى ذلك في بلد شحت فيه المكتبات وأصبح الحصول على الكتاب أمر عزيز كعز الكبريت الأحمر، ولكن فرجنا دائما الحصول على نسخة إلكترونية ومن ثم قرائتها في ال"آيباد".
الرواية من تأليف آسني سييرستاد التي اتت لأفغانستان إثر سقوط نظام طالبان، عاشت مع إحدى الأسر الأفغانية التي تعد في نظرها متوسطة الحال، اختلطت معهم حتى أصبحت "منهم وفيهم"، تستيقظ كما يستيقظون، وتأكل مما يأكلون، تزور كزيارتهم، كل ذلك بحس فني وملاحظة نافذة، يظهر ذلك من جمال وصفها لشخصيات العائلة وهذا من أجمل ما فيها.
بائع الكتب هو سلطان، يملك مكتبة فيها امات الكتب المختلفة مذكرات، روايات، مخطوطات، كتب دينية، كتب مصورة ... من مختلف الاتجاهات والمشارب، تتعرض مكتبته للحرق والاغلاق ومن ثم يعاود الكرة وهكذا دواليك، إذا كان من بطل للرواية فهو هو، بعض الغرابة تظهر في شخصية سلطان على الرغم من حبه للكتب وبحثه الحثيث عنها حتى أوصلته لطهران وباكستان فهو حرم أبنائه وإخوته من مواصلة تعليمهم وعينهم باعة لديه في فروع مكتبته، موقفه من أحد النجار عندما سرق بعض الطوابع البريدية وإصراره على محاكمته وسجنه وهو العائل لأسرة فقيرة جدا
تتناول مختلف أوجه الحي��ة، مواقف طالبان وتصرفاتهم، وفي هذه النقطة يتضح لأي قارئ للرواية مدى الكره والحقد الدفين الذي تكنه الكاتبة لطالبان وحكمهم
الرواية يزينها بعض المعلومات عن أفغانستان عن أنظمة الحكم التي توالت عليها، فلم يكن في خلدي قبل قرائتها أن هناك زمن كان الأفغانيات ترتدي فيها التنورات القصر، وأنه بلد متمدن متحضر لدرجة متقدمة، ومن المعلومات كذلك تاريخ نفق سالانغ وعن رياضة الكجوري مما أثار فضولي للبحث عنها جميعا في النت واليوتيوب
لا تخلو الرواية من الملل نظرا لكثرة صفحاتها والاسهاب أحيانا فهي تبلغ 360 صفحة، الترجمة هي الأخرى كأسوأ ما يكون.

Dokumentarna proza zasnovana na životu jedne afganistanske porodice. Autorica ja norveška novinarka koja je zadatku predstavljanja porodice pristupila krajnje objektivno, i u nekim dijelovima hladno, tako da romanu nedostaje estetski dio, tj skoro je u potpunosti lišen književno-umjetničkih odlika. Radnja se svodni na puko nabrajanje događaja bez unošenja ličnog i subjektivnog stava i emocija.
Mnogo bolje, poetičnije, intimnije i emocionalnije su o ovoj temi pisali Nadija Hašimi, Khaled Huseini i drugi.

Molto interessante: volendo analizzare la complicata situazione afghana, l'autrice offre un punto di vista "interno", sia per aver vissuto per un certo periodo con la famiglia del libraio, che per il fatto di riportare quanto gli hanno raccontato i membri stessi della famiglia, e dunque i diretti interessati.
Invece di leggere le solite tirate dei giornalisti che banalizzano tutto in un buoni contro cattivi, e che raccontano delle donne di Kabul come se mettere lo smalto sulle unghie fosse il loro obiettivo della vita, è meglio leggersi un libro come questo.

Τελικά νομίζω ότι το βιβλίο είναι μία περιγραφή κοινωνικών και ιστορικών γεγονότων μίας χώρας η οποία δεν γνώρισε την ειρήνη για πολύ μεγάλο χρονικό διάστημα, που υπέφερε και πόνεσε. Η κοινωνία και ο πολιτισμός που περιγράφεται είναι τόσο διαφορετικός από τον δικό μας. Μία κοινωνία τόσο σκληρή και απάνθρωπη με κυριότερα θύματα τις γυναίκες και τα παιδιά. Και για μία ακόμη φορά μία θρησκεία γίνεται το όργανο καταπίεσης και υποδούλωσης. Η ζωή τους είναι τόσο σκληρή και απελπισμένη που διαβάζοντας αυτό το βιβλίο αισθάνθηκα ευγνώμων για την κοινωνία που ζούμε έστω κι αν πολλοί την κατακρίνουμε.

I was surprised to see so many negative ratings of this exceptional book. The author explains how she lived with an Afghan family for four months and the book explores its dynamic. The treatment of the bookseller, a man of high repute, of his wives, sons and most particularly his youngest daughter is appalling. Although well educated himself he deprives his children of an education and any chance of choosing their own paths in life. Even his first wife, an educated woman has no autonomy. He makes her stay in Pakistan, running his mail order business, while he is in Kabul, treating his young bride like a favoured pet.

The book does not give the family's real name, but when it was published the bookseller was easily recognisable because of his prominence in Kabul. He took legal action against the author, but after eight years she won the case.

رئيس هذه العائلة "سلطان" بائع كتب في كابول.. معه عشنا حياة بائع الكتب في تلك الرقعة التي تحكمها عصابة الطالبان، كيف كان يتعامل وأغلب الكتب ممنوعة بأمر منهم.
كيف كان يحمي كتبه التي يعتبرها ثروته النفيسة.

عشنا مع نساء العائلة كذلك، بدءا من الأم "بيبي غول" مرورا بزوجتيه؛ الأولى "شريفة" والثانية "صونيا'' وأخواته من أكبرهن حتى أصغرهن "ليلى"..
لكل امراة حكايتها وتفاصيلها.. لكنهن يجتمعن حول العادات التي تقمعهن وطالبان الذي جاء وسحقهنّ تحت وابل من القوانين التي اقتربت من تحريم النفس عليهن.

قرأت الكثير عن أفغانستان.. بأقلام كتاب أفغان وغيرهم.
لكن هذه الرواية جاءت مختلفة، انها حقيقية بشخصيات حقيقية وأحداث حقيقية كذلك لكنها كُتبت بأسلوب روائي جميل جدا.
لمن يعشقون التفاصيل ستروقهم حتما هذه الرواية لأنها مليئة بها.

Cez tuto knihu sa nedozvieme vela o sucasnej situácii v Afganistane, ale poskytne nam prudko realny obraz jej spolocnosti. Autorka žila pol roka v rodine knihkupca Sultána Chana. Tu nasavala atmosferu, pozorovala ich zivot a zvyky a nasledne napisala tuto skvelú autenticku reportaz. A mne z toho vyšlo jedine - tam by som teda zit nechcela. Zeny su považované za absolútne nič, nemozu mat vlastny nazor, musia skryvat svoju identitu pod burkou, musia sa podriadovat rozhodnutiam svojej rodiny. Častokrát su znasilnovane a idu sa zodrat uplne do spiku kosti. Strasne, vzdy mi je smutno ked si spomeniem na to ze niekde na svete sa takto musí zit v 21.storoci a ze na zmenu v ich krajine budeme cakat asi velmi dlho.

Okay so the author seems very naive, and that's a pretty safe bet. She is knowledgeable however, so I'll give her that. I wouldn't take this book seriously if you're looking for some real social or historical insight into Afghanistan. It really pales in that sense. If you're looking for a light read and a good story, in that sense, it's good and can offer some inspiration. So it's all right so far.

All right, just finished it. It was interesting and page-turning, but the author's tone really aggravated me. She spoke sardonically of situations that held little humour. Also, she assumed a sort of deep knowledge of her subjects and largely oversimplified the context in which the Khan family lived. She started to speak in like a personal third person, as if she understood deeply the characters' thoughts. I do not believe she had this understanding and therefore do not think she should have conveyed it as such. It is trespassing; even the best journalist/reporters cannot assume the character's inner beliefs and feelings.

She presupposes a lot. Living with a family for a few months and only interacting with the three English-speaking members of the family does not merit her sweeping generalizations. Granted, she makes a disclaimer that the Khan family does not represent all Afghanis. She has an obvious oversight with regard to her generalizing her own observations to proclaim so much about the family. Not only does she entirely write herself out of the story, which completely limits the reader's ability to validate whether or not her interactions yielded this much understanding about the family, but she disregards the fact that many of her observations might be from an oblique angle and that her presence itself undoubtedly must have affected the family. Her observations are without citation, in that sense, because she does not give her analysis any supporting framework or context.

It also lacked a central theme or a point. After reading it, I can't say there was some message she got across to me, just a series of loosely related anecdotes. No real declaration, but there were some beautiful nuances. Other than that, no real thesis.

Pros: she described characters beautifully. It was surprising how you could at once hate and love a character, know nothing about them and then second guess yourself and find yourself completely enthralled in their identities. She talked about real people and she made them real in her pages with her intimate detailing of idiosyncratic observations. You got a sense of the reality of her characters in their interactions. I couldn't quite tell if she translated the characters' stories with love or contempt, but I guess it doesn't really matter in the end, because it's the reader. And I guess as a reader I loved them and hated them so...hey.

The book was really despondent. There wasn't anything really hopeful about it, and any hope I could manage to find, the author emphatically dashed. I think she was actively propagating that Afghanistan was a place with no hope of improving and that it stagnated in archaic traditions and had no way out. Most exposes will at least bestow a sense of felicity upon the reader in the form of some meager optimism, but this author was not that geneous. In this way, I disagree with her portrayal. Albeit it being a nonfiction, and although she can't embellish with happy moments, her narrations of anything good were few and far between. I think that even in the worst of scenarios, which the Khan family did not represent, there could be some light shed, but she just made the whole story dismal and lacking any connection to a future ambition for the country, like she was just telling a tragedy and leaving.

I guess I'm happy I read it. I guess I kinda liked it--but somewhat grudgingly.

Hats off to Afghan women. It was heartbreaking to read of their slavery and oppression, the way society treats them, the way they have to live without hope or expectations, how basic necessities like education and wealth are denied to them, how they are married off (or literally sold off to the highest bidder) to men decades older than them, sometimes as third or fourth wives and how they are physically abused and punished if they even look at another man. I used to think dowry system in India was is foulest on earth, but then the opposite is not much better. These girls, or rather their male relatives are paid handsome amounts by rich older men who also bear the wedding cost, which on deeper thinking seems to be much degrading. I dont know how much of this book is really true, but if what is portrayed here is the way of life of Afghan women, I wonder how they live day after day, when most people would have embraced death rather than a soulless existence. This is an interesting book revolving around an old bookseller and publisher of Kabul, how he deals with his women relative, younger men relatives and society as a whole. He is portrayed to be much more liberated and kindhearted than the average man. But still, there is much left to desire. The author of this book actually lived with this bookseller's family for a few months and interacted with all the members to bring forth this book. On reading this book, I am constantly reminded of my privileges and am so thankful to be born as who I am and where I am.

رواية واقعية ..
كاتبة الرواية آسني سييرستاد قامت بزيارة كابول في أعقاب سقوط حكم طالبان عام ٢٠٠١ .. وهناك التقت ببائع كتب أفغاني جذبها حديثه في شؤون التاريخ والأدب .. وأعجبها حبه الشديد للكتب ولبلده أفغانستان .. وأخذت الكاتبة تتردد على المكتبة وتستمع لأحاديث صاحبها عن التاريخ والتراث الأفغاني .. ثم دعاها لتناول العشاء في بيته للتعرف على أسرته وهناك قررت أن تؤلف كتابا عن حياة هذه الأسرة وعن صورة المجتمع الأفغاني في ذلك الوقت ..

اسلوب الكاتبة شيق وسلس وإستطاعت رسم صورة واضحة لعادات وتقاليد الأسرة الأفغانية فيما يتعلق بالعلاقات الأسرية والتعليم والعمل والزواج سواء في فترة حكم طالبان أو ما بعدها .. كما أجادت أيضا في وصف صورة عامة للمجتمع الأفغاني بما فيه من أحداث إجتماعية وسياسية وثقافية ..

بناء على ماهو مكتوب خلف الكتاب أن الصحافية الشقراء تذهب لافغانستان وتسكن مع أحد العائلات لتسجل مشاهداتها لحياة الافغان بعد سقوط نظام طالبان. وتبدأ لتتكلم باقتضاب عن كيفية دخولها للعائلة، وفجأة تنسحب الكاتبة من مجريات الاحداث لتتم مشاهداتها بطريقة أدبية كما تقول. كما وتتكلم باقتضاب أيضا عن "سلطان" وهو بائع الكتب وعن تجارته وكيفية تأسيسه لها في مايقارب الفصل أو الفصلين. وتكمل باقي الكتاب بالحديث عن بقية أفراد الاسرة وتصور حياتهم فردا فردا.

أما عن رأيي بالكتاب فلم يضف لي الكثير. صوّر حياتهم بطريقة كئيبة جدا، قد تكون صحيحة في أغلب جوانبها الا أن تصوير الكاتبة كان سيئا جدا. لم يوجد أحداث تذكر، بل مجرد تعداد لشخصيات متعددة وتصويرها بطريقة مزعجة إلى حد ما.
مادفعني لشراءه هو اعتقادي بأن الجزء الأغلب من الكتاب سيتحدث عن بائع الكتب نفسه، وعن تجارته وكيفية تأسيسه لها وعن الصعوبات التي واجهته على مرّ النظم السياسة التي مرت بها أفغانستان، إلّا أنني لم اجد إلا لقليل والقليل فقط عن ذلك.
