glaringly obvious, incredibly uninspired, completely underwhelming.

theres a lot i didnt like ablut the book. which isnt to say i disagree with certain points. however. i hate this verbal softening of abuse .

the “misogynistic” men which are the focal point of the book and its central thesis are just plain abusive. a therapist who is this advising victims of abuse to change themselves and hope for change and leave if not is so incredibly idiotic. such a horrible obtrusive narrative permeates the book from beginning to end and made me want to put it down several times.

I liked this book, it was a lot like “Why Does He Do That?” but with more of a guided therapy session in the second half. I personally have been through an emotionally abusive relationship and felt like this would’ve been a good read at the time. Now looking back, it helps me understand what I was going through and how I can pause and look at warning signs before letting anything happen like that again. It helps you feel more in touch with yourself and gives you a closer dive into the minds of misogynistic men.

I read this for clients some years ago and thought it was good at the time.

Excelent book and a must read for any woman who has even been in a relationship that has been abusive in any way; whether this be emotional, psychological or physical.
