Not enough Noah Clayborne, so for that I'm a little disappointed. I've been looking forward to his story from the start because he's a bit of thorn on the Buchanan brothers' side. And he appears in every books in the series so I thought he'd be more prominent in Shadow Dance because it is his story after all. But it doesn't feel like it his story mainly because his heroine is Jordan Buchanan. So when finally a Buchanan is the star in the series, I ended up not caring so much about the Buchanan. Life's a bitch that way.

Loved it! Noah is so hot! Read this book and fall in love again. The character of Noah Clayborn is included in a couple other Garwood books, and you laugh at him there, but fall for him in this one. Jordan is a strong woman and a great example of todays woman. Give this one a try.

Another winner

I had looked forward to Noah’s story, and it did not disappoint. Great cast of eccentric characters and accurate depiction of the idiosyncrasies of life in a small town. Bravo!!

I like the characters but it seems like the authors been going a little backwards on these last couple of books. Over the top and long stretches of boring dialogue. She tries to make a lot of these characters be perfect and if you come into money or could be a star that is not a good thing and not sophisticated enough. Isabel McCanna is 19 years old, very pretty and flirts with every older man and has a big personality, they said she has a very beautiful voice and everybody wants to sign her to make her a star but she says no, she’s going to be a history major. Her sister Keith comes in to over $80 million of an inheritance and gives it away. Isabell could be a star and a history major. Little ridiculous. Also, like all the previous books, the big masculine man takes the lead in the relationship and dictates to the woman that he’s ready to settle down. Another thing, she makes all the main characters, talking about the women, cryers. There’s supposed to be strong business women and again, they all end up very emotional and crybabies. Set it up for the men to take over and save the day. Way too much back-and-forth talking with no substance.

I liked this book more than I thought I would.

After meeting Jordan in the previous book, I thought I wouldn't like her. I thought she was thoughtless and inconsiderate after being late to pick up her friend at the airport and it was explained away that is how Jordan always is. But the Jordan in Shadow Dance was smart and resourceful and endearingly awkward at times. It made me smile.

Noah got a bad start for me as well. I had remembered him from other books of course but at the start of this book he is late for his friend's wedding because he was (it was assumed) with a woman. Noah does nothing to correct this assumption so the reader is left with no choice but to believe it's the reason. A Wedding! He is late to a wedding and just like Jordan, it is explained away, that's just how he is. Noah likes women. Ugh. The bride should have been furious with him for holding up her wedding but nah....it's Noah.

After these initial first impressions, I grew to like Jordan. The story was based more around the mystery than the romance so that helped. You get a lot of time to get to know Jordan. You will never get to know Noah. Any opportunity there is to have insight into him is glossed over by the author with a couple paragraphs. There is no real reason to believe the connection between Jordan and Noah, but yet I did.

The HEA is too fast and not believable. Noah gets sent on a job out of town while Jordan heals from a gun wound and then, tada, he is back just in time to see her healthy and moving around so he can ask her to marry him.

There was minimal angst which is good for me and true to the author's form in this series. The focus was on the suspense, not the romance.

This was so good. So, so good! I absolutely love Noah and Jordan. I love how different they are and even though their long history as friends, they never were any romantically inclined to each other. Their feelings never just appeared but slowly grew, together with their personality and everyday life, is just such a great line to follow. It is a deep, connectable story with an interesting side plot that to be quite frank, I never really needed. It was the cherry on the ice cream but oh, what a ice cream.

The whole book is just so warm, fuzzy, exciting with a lot of suspense, hilarious characters, deep connections and just wonderful romantic suspense. This is what I want and hell, you did it again Garwood. You freaking did it again.

Unfortunately it do end on a cliffhanger. Not one of those bad ones but still a cliffhanger. It may be quite interesting to get to know all the answers someday, but still, at this point, I don’t feel the need for it. So on that note, I do really recommend this series and even though there is cliffhangers, there is no bad ones. And it is just so worth it.

I like this type of book, that doesn't required much of me, a cup of coffee and a afternoon usually does the trick, its a good entertaining story: a cop, a killer, a damsel in distress that needs saving, an fortuitous situation in which neither protagonist can get out of, that they end up attached to the hip for how many days that they just cannot resist the temptation of the flesh, and after having wonderful, and consuming of the soul, never experience before, sex, they realize its not lust but forever kinda love.
I give it a three, not because its not well written, or not entertaining, its just that compare with other authors of same genre, it comes out lacking. but I love Noah

Espectacular! Lo tiene todo, sobretodo a Noah! Siempre supera mis expectativas. No me estoy leyendo la serie por orden y me cabrea no poder terminarla. La editoriales podrían pensar un poco más en los lectores y terminar las series que empiezan.

I quite enjoyed this one. We have a tech lady and the quintessential bad boy getting together after knowing each other for a long time - so kind of friends to lovers.
We have a small town setting, a nice mystery and a good amount of chemistry between our main characters.
What I don't like is the way the author always takes it too far too quickly. You can't have regency outcomes in a contemporary setting, when it comes to the romance. Or you can, but you must make sure that the ground is properly set. So, when you turn a man who has slept his way through hundreds of women and hasn't had a serious committed relationship a day in his life into an I-love-you-throwing dedicated partner within a week, I have to give you the side eye. Which is why I took away a star.
But I had fun reading this book and would recommend it.

Good book. Not outstanding or something with a great "wow" factor, but a good solid book. It starts off a bit slow, as have several other Garwood books I've read, but the storyline picks up.

For a romantic suspense that involves murder and mayhem, the book has a rather low-intensity, laid-back feel to it. It didn't keep me on my toes like other romantic suspenses I've read.

The romance was decent...I liked both Jordan and Noah; they had some passion between them, but I wasn't exactly feeling the "forever" thing with them. For me, the development of their feelings for each other was a little lacking.

In the end, like I said, a good book and worth reading especially if you're reading the other Buchanan books by Garwood, but not an exceptionally great book.

Over all I though it was ok. I was a bit disappointed, It definitely felt incomplete.
If you have a man-whore trigger this is not the book for you. That's not even my problem with it though.
I think it either moved too slowly or too quickly. She spent pages and pages and small details, but when something big happened she would skip ahead to the next scene. I kind of want more of these characters though; I just wish the book had been longer.

It's hard to say more without spoilers so I'll put the rest of what I think on my blog.
