Sutilmente.

n  4.5 Bodies Are Dropping Stars!n

This book picks up after Slow Burn Dylan and Kate are getting married and merging the "Buchanan's & McKenna's" when a nutty history professor crashes the party claiming to be from the "McKenna clan" who's outraged that a McKenna would marry a blasted no good Buchanan!

Turns out he is a Kate's youngest sister Isabel's History Professor who she accidentally invited to the wedding....she thinks. Jordan Buchanan not wanting her BFF and her brothers wedding ruined agrees to let him stay, when he starts insulting and belittling the Buchanan Clan (a historical McKenna enemy) she loses her temper and agrees to meet him so he can give her the "evidence" he has compiled over the years to prove the Buchanan's are "vile barbarians".

n  n

Upon arriving in Serenity TX, their first meeting does not go as planned but she is able to get the research papers he promised. Next thing you know the professor is murdered and Jordan is the prime suspect.....

Sexy FBI Agent Noah Claybourne (he's been in several of the previous books) and her brother FBI Agent Nick Buchanan (Heartbreaker) come to rescue Jordan when she is arrested by a corrupt Sheriff. Jordan and Noah must stay in town while Jordan gives her statement. Meanwhile, Noah and Jordan grow closer while their stay is extended a few days. Jordan & Noah return to Boston, but, Jordan's troubles are far from over.....it's up to Noah to figure out who want's Jordan dead.

All in all, I loved this book mainly because I have loved both of these characters throughout the series....but, honestly I wish we had more focus on Noah (swoon) and Jordan's budding relationship.

* Narrated by the very talented Joyce Bean

3.5 stars really

Interesting

It can be read as a stand alone, even though there were a lot of characters that I felt I had to know their story, but it didn’t really affect this storyline.
This book has the mystery and romance factor intertwined, but it didn’t felt forced or even rushed.

It got confusing at times, the whole profesor Mackenna with his bizarre research and the main conflict at the end didn’t really add up, but after all, it didn’t matter I guess.

It was a simple read at least.

Good book

I enjoyed reading this book. It doesn’t really get going & exciting until around 25% into the book so hang in there. It’s worth it. The plot gets exciting real fast & it’s action from that point on. Jordan & Noah are cute together. I like how intelligent and kindhearted she is. She’s definitely not a pushover though. Noah is funny (although not as funny as he was in previous books in the series) and enjoys teasing her. I like how comfortable they are with each other.

The plot is interesting with dead bodies popping up around Jordan while she’s in tiny town Serenity, TX. There were a few funny moments. I enjoyed the people of Serenity and like how they embraced her right from the start. The mystery is interesting with a few twists here & there.

This is the story about Jordan Buchanan. She is so happy that one of her brothers, Dylan, and her best friend, Kate MacKenna are getting married. The wedding is a very lavish one set in South Carolina. All goes well until a crasher shows up by the name of Professor MacKenna. He claims that there is bad blood between the MacKenna and Buchanan families. He claims there is a MacKenna treasure that has been stolen by the Buchanan family.

Jordan is a successful business woman and has led a cautious life. She is intrigued by the professor's claims but is also skeptical of him. Noah Clayborne is a close family friend; between Noah and Nick claiming that she is trapped in her comfort zone, she decides to check out the treasure map.

She travels to Serenity, Texas to check out these claims. She discovers the town is remote with everyone knowing everyone else's business. She does not know that there is a person who has a secret that he is desperate to keep. She is shocked to discover a body in the trunk of her car.

She is accused of the murder. Thankfully she called her brother Nick, an FBI agent to let him know she is in trouble. Nick and Noah come to rescue her when she is arrested by a corrupt sheriff. Nick is called away but Noah stays with Jordan to protect her. They end up having to stay longer that they plan as more bodies pile up.

They head back to Boston but the killer follows Jordan there. He has to make sure she is not a witness that can threaten his future.

And of course, Jordan and Noah come together!

Exciting, riveting, breathtaking, heart pounding, these are just a few adjectives that describe how I felt while reading this book. After reading the previous book in the series, I was looking forward to going on and explosive up and down the ride, I was not disappointed. In this book, you will get to crisscross the country and be thoroughly entertained while doing it. It will make you be more careful, the next time you go to put something in the trunk of your vehicle. You will also get a greater appreciation for small-town life. Read this book and find out what I mean.

2.5 I loved Noah and I loved Jordan and they deserved better. All the Buchanan's were pod people in this one. You expect me to believe Nick wouldn't haven't hit the roof over  his womanizing friend banging his little sister?? Please.
This could have been a great story but it was like she only gave us the notes for a great story. I've read all her HR and I still have only the vaguest idea what the connection was. Nothing and no one in this was fully developed. Disappointed.

Noah is a hoot. I have loved his character and presence in all the books. I’m getting a HEA with one of the Buchanans is wonderful. This is humorous book in my opinion. I loved the murder mystery aspect, the small town charm and of course the relationship development. The end let’s us catch up with some other siblings and the Buchanan parents as well. I flew through the story and can’t wait for more of this series.

This was a romantic mystery and I was pleasantly surprised that I liked it so much. The interaction between Jordan and Noah stretched between 'cool as a cucumber' and 'blazing HOT'. The suspense keeps you flipping the pages long into the night.
