So good.

I really love this series. Jordan is researching and visits the town of Serendipity. But there’s a problem, why are people dying and she’s the one finding the bodies? When will she finally get to leave? Noah becomes her bodyguard, and are they are falling for other? He’s a F.B.I. agent and her best friend’s brother. Had some tears when something happens and he realizes how much she means to him. Who wants to harm her? Loved the suspense and plus the fun way Jordan and Noah are with each other. I highly recommend this book.

Novel ini benar² "kesalahan" buat saya. Pertama, saya salah beli krn tertipu covernya yg saya pikir ini historical romance, eh tau²nya malah suspense romance. Tau sendiri susrom author bener² spt kerupuk masuk angin. Udah gak enak dikunyah.

Kedua, chemistry tokoh utama, Jordan dan Noah cuma sekedar tempelan. Gak jelas chemistry nya datang drmn tau² udah bobo aja. Ketiga, korban pembunuhan pertama si professor sejarah ini menggelikan, buat apa memancing Jordan utk menceritakan pertikaian klan Buchanan dan MacKenna yg sdh berumur ratusan tahun. Makin gak nyambung lagi ketika dibaca motif si pembunuh membunuh professor malang ini. Benar² alibi super lemah. Keempat, spt biasa plot dan twist nya udah ky bertutur dongeng ke anak SD, bukan pd pembaca dewasa.

Kelima, ini pembunuhnya bloon, serangannya terlalu super sporadis alias ngawur target semua. Terakhir, mau apalagi yg diperbaiki utk susrom yg lbh mementingkan unsur family ties yg berlebihan? Ini novel gak tertolong lagi buat gw. Unsur² yg gw gak demen dr suspense masuk semua di novel ini. Parah!!!

I have nothing nice to say about this book. I don't ask for much from books, I just want to be entertained, and I usually understand why popular books are popular. This book was written by a best selling author and got okay reviews on this website. However, I can unequivocally say that this is the worst book I have read in years. In fact, this review already has a wider range of vocabulary than this book. Oh, except for her love of the word "voracious", which she must have just learned before writing this book because she used it multiple times and it felt so out of place next to all the other words that I started marking the pages that it was on.

Well, I had to do something to keep me interested. This book sounded okay with the promise of romance, murder mystery, and a Scottish highland treasure linked to an ancient family secret. It delivered stereotypical romance, a boring murder mystery and, spoiler alert, the Scottish mystery is never revealed, you have to read another book to find that out. Screw you, Julie Garwood. Of course, there are only about two pages that are even devoted to the mystery. Oh and there's this secret code on all these notes that's supposed to lead to the answer, (the bad guy is so concerned about this code that he even kills three people) but what is this mystery code? Spoiler alert, it's the numbers of his street address. WTF??? Crazy thing is, everyone has his street address, so who freaking cares. Oh, but he's worried about his secret identity not leaking out. Well maybe he shouldn't have killed three people then, because no one cared until they had a trunk full of bodies to deal with. Also there's no suspense because the author throws in chapters in the perspective of the bad guys, who tell the reader how and why they committed the crimes before the actual characters figure it out for themselves.

Oh and the romance is forced and pretty much goes like this: we're just friends, on more we had sex like 20 times one night, oh no we should just be friends, oh no you got shot and I love you, well maybe we should still just be friends, never mind marry me!

However, the worst part of the book is actually the writing. I've read omnipresent narrators before, but it's a little confusing when every other paragraph takes place in a different characters head. There is something to be said for showing instead of telling.

I'm depressed how much time I spent ranting about this. In review, I wasn't a fan of this book. I'm done now.

Crap, two more things that really grind my gears. Noah, the main love interest calls every female "sugar". Annoying. And, finally, the main character is on almost every page yet her looks are never described beyond the fact that she has auburn hair and everyone thinks she's pretty. Come on!

Wonderful story

This is a great book..it keep me on my toes the whole way thru. I laughed a lot and cried some too. The characters are so good, blending in well with the story line. Noah is a hero anyone would love to have on their side. He's funny and loving with Jordan, and she is so funny and sweet. I like how it fits in the characters from previous books. I can't wait to read the next book. Julie has done it again, she is a wonderful writer.

Jordan has known Noah for quite some time. After all, he is her brother Buck's best friend and partner, and a womanizer to boot. Never in a million years will she become one of his groupies. But when a dare pushes Jordan out of her comfort zone and she finds herself. a murder suspect, Noah rushes to her rescue. As they work together to untangle the mystery, they discover their true feelings for one another. Since I've read the 5 books preceding this I was ready for Noah and Jordan's story. You will enjoy it more if you read the series in order. There are many references to characters from previous books.

Jordan Buchanan stops an elderly man who has crashed her brother Dylan and her best friend Kate McKenna's wedding. Professor McKenna claims that he has proof of a long-running feud between the Buchanan and the McKenna clans that dates back hundreds of years. He blames all of the problems on the Buchanan clan. Jordan decides to prove him wrong. She takes him up on his offer and follows him to a small Texas town. The professor gives her his research to copy. The next day when Jordan tries to place the boxes of research in the trunk of her car, she finds a dead body. A few minutes later, Jordan is taken into police custody and has been accused of murder. Her only option is to call her brother Nick and his partner Noah who work for the FBI.

Noah knows Jordan well. In fact, he goaded her into getting out of her comfort zone which is why she decided to go to Texas in the first place. Noah finds a bumbling sheriff, his ex-con brother, and a corrupt police chief are trying to railroad Jordan into confessing to a murder. Noah gets her out of jail and decides to have a look at the case to see if he can help solve it.

This story takes place in a small town where there were many memorable characters who know everyone's business. There is a lot of humor in it. Jordan keeps finding dead bodies everywhere she turns. I liked Noah since he was introduced in the first book in the series; and I thought Jordan was a good match for him. But there is just something missing from their romance that I can't put my finger on. Still, it was an entertaining book and probably my favorite of the series so far. My rating: 4.5 Stars.

I've read this book three times now and this is definitely my favorite book in the whole world!! I love it so much.

This book starts with Kate and Dylan's wedding. We already knew they were getting married (thanks to the previous book from this collection, Slow Burn). I think that's cute because Kate is Jordan's best friend and we can see a bit more of their relationship here. The wedding starts later than what it was supposed to thanks to Noah! He remains a womanizer, the same Noah we are used to from some of the previous books.

I think the fact that Jordan and Noah already knew each other and were friends was one of the things that made me like this book more than the others. In the other books there's a girl in trouble who meets a guy and they feel attracted to each other and then have sex. This one is different. They already had a relationship. Their friendship is really funny, they make me laugh a lot. They are always provoking each other. Jordan seems to be the only girl in the universe who is immune to Noah's "skills".

When he accuses her of having a private comfort zone and never doing anything without considering the risks and the advantages before, she wants to prove him wrong and goes to Serenity, Texas to collect professor MacKenna's research. (The professor was a man she met at the wedding. He was exchanging letters with Isabel, Kate's little sister, about MacKenna's history and the antagonism with the Buchanans - Jordan's family.)

That's when the problem starts! Serenity is in the middle of nowhere and Jordan regrets going there as soon as she arrives. She meets with the professor to have dinner to talk about his research. He was a complete caveman. I hate him like hell. He was so coarse with Jordan. Ugh.

Unlike him, the other people in town were very welcoming and they were really nice to Jordan, specially Angela and Jaffee.

When Jordan found professor's body in her car, I can't tell I was sad. He got what he deserved. But poor Jordan! She was so nervous. But who wouldn't be? She called her brother Nick for help, but Noah was the one who answered. He was very patient with her, told her what to do and also said that he and Nick would be there soon. When she was calling 911, everything went wrong. J.D. appeared and knocked her out. Son of a bitch!

Then she woke up and Maggie Haden, the sheriff, took her to the police station. I have to say that I also hate that woman very, very, very much. She was a damn bitch. And she was also a corrupt police, which I also hate. But then Noah and Nick arrived. Hell yeah, bitch, back off!! I was so happy when they arrived. It was so sweet seeing them like that. They were really pissed of and worried with Jordan and they weren't there to play games. Maggie Haden was very surprised to see them. Her reaction was hillarious!

Noah was so sweet with Jordan. Oh, boy... They managed to release her and they even arrested Maggie Haden. That was damn awesome!

Nick had to get back but Noah stayed in Serenity with Jordan to help her. Suddendly she wasn't his friend's little sister anymore - she was a sexy woman he wanted like hell. He was very protective.

Then another body appeared in Jordan's car. Someone definitely wanted her to stay in town. While all the bad things happened, Jordan and Noah got closer and had sex, more than once, and it was different for both of them. They had never felt like that. She fell for him and she couldn't stop it.

Eventually, everything was solved when someone burned professor MacKenna's house and J.D.'s body was found there. Everyone thought he was the one who did it but something went wrong and he died. Finally they went back home. Jordan didn't want to admit she was in love with Noah because she knew him. She knew what he was like with women and she didn't want to suffer. Because of that, they made a deal: once they were back home, they would take separate lifes.

Everything changed when they both received a call form the FBI officer who was in charge of the case saying that J.D.'s death was a murder after all. There was a killer out tere.

When Jordan was about to find out everything, she was shot. Noah was a miserable. He was so afraid of losing her. As her father was walking out of the hospital when she was shot, everyone though he was the target. But no. And Jordan saw who shot her! Dave Trumbo. I would never guess. He seemed like a nice guy. She was able to tell that to Noah and they found out everything about him.

When Noah and Nick went to Jordan's house to catch him, supposedly, he went back to the hospital and tried to kill her one more time. Thank God Noah realized his game and saved her in time. He killed the son of a bitch.

After a while, when Jordan was at her parents' house recovering, Nick returned with Noah and he finally told her he loved her and asked her to marry him.

In some of the previous books, Noah was always like 'I-will-never-settle-down-I-like-to-have-lots-of-sex-and-then-never-see-them-again' so I was happy to see him settling down with someone he knew for a long time and someone he was also friends with. Noah and Jordan make a great couple and they are definitely my favorite characters from this collection.

This book was AMAZING. I was just a bit disappointed in the end because I wanted to read about their wedding but I loved it anyway.

I did the audio on this and it was hilarious. The reader did such a great job. I was laughing so much. It was just a funny fluffy read and kind of cheesy. I liked the mystery part of this book. It reeled me in as it unfolded. My negative is the romance. I always hate deducting for something it says it clearly it is, ie: ROMANCE. But it so was hard to believe. And I think that is always my biggest complaint with romance. I will say though, that I liked the characters and the story. And I do plan on reading more by this author. I loved her humor.

Copyright 2006. This story brings together Jordan & Noah, who are the descendants of Broderick Buchanan & Cole Clayborne.

Jordan is sweet, pretty, intelligent. A typical JG heroine. Noah is a handsome, buff man whore. At a family wedding, he takes 3 of the bridesmaids to bed. No one gets sleep. Jordan considers Noah a friend, but nothings more until Noah challenges her to step out of her comfort zone & try to solve a mystery. This mystery involves her ancestor & a long Scottish history.

So, I liked this one more than the others in this series I've read. I liked Noah & Jordan & the small town in Texas they end up in. There's danger & of course they fall in love.
One thing I DID'NT like. The end is so dumb & we never find out about the treasure. Jordan starts to tell the story & that's the end. LAME!

When this book first came out, it was the story we'd all been waiting for. We were first introduced to him in Heartbreaker as Nick Buchanan's partner, and saw him again in Mercy and Killjoy. The super sexy womanizer, FBI Special Agent Noah Clayborne, a descendant of Cole Clayborne from an earlier historical series, finally gets his own story.

Jordan Buchanan is in Serenity, TX doing some research when she finds the body of the professor she's met with in the trunk of her car. Knowing she'd been set up, she calls her brother Nick. Noah answers, and it's a good thing she called before the cops arrive, because not only was she set up, but the sheriff isn't exactly playing by the book. Noah is ordered to stay with Jordan until she gets home, but they have to stay longer because things keep happening.

Not only did I enjoy Jordan and Noah, but also many of the characters in Serenity. If you've read the most recent releases in this contemporary series, you'll find this one has a great deal more humor between our hero and heroine as well as some interesting situations. And of course there is the mystery of who killed the professor and why. The day Noah realizes he loves Jordan is very touching.

Of course, if you haven't read any of the prior books listed above, you will be able to follow what's going on, but won't experience the same impact on Noah's reaction to Jordan.

This is one of my favorites from the author's Contemporary Series and I've probably reread it at least 6 times since the book came out.
