Estoy llorando después de terminar este volumen. No sé cómo demonios la gente puede creer en revoluciones y políticos. Realmente, lo que puede sacar adelante a un país es la integridad, la honestidad y el trabajo duro. Los fanatismos son el hundimiento de un país.

Crítica Persépolis Integral

Seri 2 dari buku biografi Marjane Satrapi ini bercerita tentang dirinya dan Iran di masa kecil sampai remajanya (sampai Marjane berumur 14 tahun).

Tahun-tahun itu dipenuhi dengan perang Irak-Iran. Betapa perang itu sangat mengerikan. Misalnya saja, orang-orang yang terluka karena senjata kimia (katanya Jerman menjual senjata kimia ke Iran dan Irak, lalu stl ada korban Jerman akan berbaik hati merawat korban-korban tsb). Juga anak-anak laki-laki seusia Marjane yang dikerahkan sebagai martir dengan iming-iming kunci surga. Belum lagi saat Marjane melihat temannya meninggal terkena bom tentara Irak. Semuanya begitu traumatis untuknya.

Dalam keadaan perang itu, Marjane yang dari awal mengagumi pamannya yang komunis, harus berperang melawan satu hal lagi: kaum fundamentalis.
Pemikirannya yang terlalu terbuka di jamannya itu membuat orang tuannya cemas, karena orang-orang komunis seperti pamannya, hidupnya akan berakhir di tangan eksekutor.

Akhirnya Marjane yang masih berumur 14 tahun pun dikirim Austria untuk bersekolah di sana dan menghindari konflik dengan pemerintah.
Dan seperti biasa, aku menangis saat ibunya pingsan ketika Marjane berangkat ke Austria.

El final me da dejado impactada...Me ha gustado mucho más que el primer volumen¡ A ver qué tal el siguiente! :)

This is so good and I love how I can get educated and still be so entertained!

The second book is the perspective of a little Marjane to the war between Iran and Iraq. In the following we see how the war affected the life of people,which was already complicated under the influence of the Islamic regime.

This book is a bit more heavy than the first one, I think the author simply had more memories on the war than on the revolution. Thus I found it a bit darker, but the protagonist is still cute and witty, and this definitely brings lightness to reading.

I saw the movie of Persepolis first, and now I’m positively surprised of so many details that the actual book provides. In the movie this period of Marjane’s life is almost skipped.

El mejor de los 4 tomos, la protagonista crece en un contexto de guerra y la ansiedad de una niña que vive en medio de bombardeos constantes se siente gracias a ese estilo de dibujo, estilo que lamentablemente ya no encaja para contar las historias del volumen 3 y 4.
