In "Experiencing Father's Embrace," Jack Frost delves deep into the heart of the Christian faith, exploring the profound impact of understanding and encountering the love of God the Father. Drawing from his personal experiences and biblical insights, Frost invites readers on a transformative journey toward healing, restoration, and intimacy with the Father.

Frost's book's central point revolves around the idea that many Christians struggle with distorted views of God as a distant, judgmental figure rather than a loving and compassionate Father. By encountering Father God's embrace, individuals can experience healing from past wounds, find their identity as beloved children, and walk in the freedom of an authentic relationship with Him.

Frost begins by addressing common misconceptions about God's nature, emphasizing the importance of understanding Him as a loving Father rather than merely a distant deity. He skillfully weaves together biblical narratives, personal anecdotes, and theological insights to illustrate the transformative power of encountering Father God's love.

Throughout the book, Frost offers practical guidance for healing emotional wounds, breaking free from performance-driven religion, and embracing one's identity as a cherished child of God. He explores themes such as forgiveness, intimacy, and spiritual adoption, providing readers with tools to cultivate a deeper relationship with the Father.

"Experiencing Father's Embrace" is divided into three sections, each addressing different aspects of encountering God's love as a Father. In the first section, Frost explores the Father heart of God, unpacking the biblical foundation for understanding God's love and addressing common barriers to experiencing His embrace. The second section focuses on healing from past wounds and embracing one's identity as a beloved child of God. Frost shares personal testimonies and practical insights to guide readers through the process of forgiveness, inner healing, and spiritual transformation. The final section delves into the practical implications of living in the Father's embrace, emphasizing the importance of intimacy, obedience, and walking in the freedom of sonship.

Frost's book offers a compelling and compassionate exploration of the Father's heart of God, providing readers with a roadmap for experiencing healing and intimacy in their relationship with Him. His personal anecdotes and transparent storytelling add depth and authenticity to the message, making it relatable to readers from all walks of life. However, some readers may find Frost's writing style overly anecdotal at times, wishing for a more systematic or theological approach to the subject matter.

"Experiencing Father's Embrace" is a poignant and practical guide for anyone seeking to deepen their relationship with God the Father. Jack Frost's insights offer a refreshing perspective on God's love and compassion, inviting readers to embrace their identity as beloved children and walk in the freedom of His embrace. This book is a valuable resource for individuals on their journey toward healing, restoration, and intimacy with the Father.

A pointed discussion about what a true relationship with Jesus really is - not on doing or not doing but on a love relationship. Jack discusses he and his wife's past struggles and how they came to grips with themselves, their parents, and with God the Father. For those struggling with their earthly relationships or with their relationship with Christ this is a must read.

A 4th book recommended by my colleague. Although we have been on split teams for over a year now, somehow her recommendations have been inspiring and timely. All the books seem to have a similar theme, aside from carrying messages of what I need to hear the most during the time of reading. While this book got a little repetitive, I appreciate Jack's ability to use scripture in a non-judgmental way to encourage readers. I'm neither a devout Christian, nor a fan of the mega-church-ministry concept. Yet, Jack's suggestions reached me on a personal level, reminding me that our walk with God is a daily experience rather than a once-in-a-lifetime dynamic one that will change our lives. That's exactly what I needed to hear.

1.tList two strengths and two weakness/points of disagreement that you have with this book.

Strengths of the book include:
1) It makes you evaluate your love for God because without that all other love fades away; and
2) It explains through story and Bible versus how much God loves us, and the breakdown of the family as we moved away from God’s love hit the nail on the head.

Weaknesses of the book include:
1) The author’s point that major events in one’s life should be discounted rather than the moment-to-moment philosophy of serving God. While I agree in general with this, I do think that there are specific major events that happen to us that wake us up, almost like God is showing His hard love for us through those moments. While He didn’t cause them to happen, He does know that we will likely seek him more; and
2) Repetition is good, but overly used can be a barrier for growth. I think this book has a little too much repetition throughout without staying focused on the key points, though I enjoyed it very much.

2.tWhat was the author trying to create by writing this book? What was the purpose?

The author was trying to create a sense of the need for God’s love just like God desires our love. Without our love for God, all other love will fade.

3.tSummarize and outline the main points of this book.

This book focused on the Father’s love. Without loving Him with all of your heart, we are lost in a dark world.

4.tHow did this book directly impact you as a revivalist?

As a revivalist, I want to spread the love of Jesus to others. However, I can’t do this until I first love Jesus with all my heart. I must also remain humble throughout my life as I serve God, as Jesus served as well. After this has been fulfilled, though this is a lifetime ordeal, then can I bring Christ to others.

Reading this book I recognized so much of myself in it having had a bad childhood and due to that having trouble letting God and other people in. This book has so many things spot on for me, and I really believe that it was a book that I needed to read. I still have a long way to go and a lot of healing to do, but this book made me understand new things about myself and I believe it's at least part of the healing for me.

Even though I really liked the book and learned from it I also found it hard to read at times. It was a lot to take in and sometimes I had to read just a little and let it sink in. But I think that was a good thing. Some books just aren't meant to be read at once, and I believe this to be one of them. I also think it was good that Frost divided the book into different parts that made it easy to follow. He was also very personal in his writing, which I appreciated. When good teaching is intertwined with personal testimony it's a wonderful thing.

I would recommend this book to anyone that wants to experience a closer relationship to God as our Father, and especially to those who have been hurt in the past and have a hard time to come near to God because of that.

This would be a great book to read, maybe, if you have a relationship with God and find it clouded by the dysfunction of the family you grew up in.

But it just made me mad at my husband and blame other people for my problems....

I know some people who found this book life changing. Go figure.

This is an honest and sincere account of one man’s struggle to come to terms with the failings in his attitude and behaviour towards those he was closest to, and how he embarked on a journey towards transformation and recommitment to his family. It’s not a comfortable read but it does offer hope, and practical help.
