Creo que soy de las pocas personas que les gusta este libro. Entiendo que puede ser difícil en algunos pasajes porque es un castellano antiguo y hablan un poco raro. Yo he tenido la suerte de poder trabajar este libro en clase y comentar cada detalle del libro, esto me ha ayudado mucho a comprender el libro y el mensaje que Cervantes nos quería dar. Además, he podido disfrutar mucho más de la lectura porque cuando iba a tercer de la eso leí una edición del Quijote adaptada y no me gustó, pero esta vez lo he disfrutado mucho. Todas las locuras que vive don Quijote junto a Sancho, me han gustado mucho y también me he reído mucho. Es un gran libro con muchas aventuras y locuras.

Si tuve que leer esto para el colegio, que por lo menos cuente en mi reto de lectura

It took me over a month to read this Jajajaj. Pero juro que quise llorarrrr. Like, lo acabe tipo, 2-3 días antes del examen, y sentí que no recordaba nada jajaja porque casi no entendía. Osea, el lenguaje era muy pesado para mí. En una hora leía máximo 10 páginas y me acuerdo que cada F noche me pasaba leyendo diez miseras páginas, STRUGGLING A LOT, en una hora (usually de 9 a 10). Había días que estaba muy atareada y lo pasaba mal.
Entocnes, acabarlo sin recordar casi nada me hizo desesperar.
Me salvó el resumen cap a cap (pdf de 100 págs lol pero si estaba todo bien resumido). ALEX GRACIAS.
Anyway, encima me dio coraje que mientras leía resumen me leí City of Ashes en DOS/ TRES DÍAS AHHHHHH. TENÍA COMO 500 PÁGS LPTMMM.

Y la edición era un poco rara porque a veces empezabas un pasaje y costaba entender lo que pasaba??? IDK BUT NOT I'M AN ACTUAL SPANISH CITIZEN WITH PEDIGRI JAJAJS

Also,i actually cherish the story low-key deep down???? Idk, that's probably bc its a universal clásico written by a Spanish author???? ,idk ja jajajja noo es jodaaa. I mean, when you know the story and remember it without the AWFUL STRUGGLE THAT I SUFFERED WHILE READING THE ANTHALOGY, IT'S NOT TOO AWFUL, aka 3 stars.

Un clásico que si no fuera por la forma de narración seguramente me hubiese gustado más, sin embargo esta lleno de mensajes para llevarse al final de la lectura.

Estamos ante un libro que nos presenta la historia resumida de “El ingenioso hidalgo don Quijote de la Mancha”. Esta edición hace posible el acercamiento de la novela de novelas a los jóvenes.

¿Qué se puede decir de “Don Quijote” que no se haya dicho ya? Este libro ha provocado comentarios desde la publicación en 1605 de la primera parte y en 1615 de la segunda.

Seguir al ingenioso hidalgo en sus aventuras es una aventura en sí. Cabalgando por los caminos, defendiendo a los desvalidos, proclamando siempre en alto la belleza y bondad de la amada Dulcinea, somos un escudero más junto al Sancho que acompaña en la locura.

Llegar al capítulo IX de este libro supone una revelación impactante, ya que descubrimos que un elemento es invitado a la obra: la metaficción. Y aquí puntualizo: metaficción, en 1605. Impresionante.

Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra fue un genio al plasmar de la manera en que lo hizo, una crítica a las novelas de caballería. Yo no sé si él lo supo, pero revolucionó definitivamente el mundo de los libros.

Hay que leer “El ingenioso hidalgo don Quijote de la Mancha” al menos una vez en la vida. Y vuelvo al punto, fue escrito hace más de 400 años y aún sigue aquí, sorprendiéndonos con su historia y su estilo.

4 stars because the edition is absolutely wonderful. Dore's illustrations, very helpful comments, and an impressive effort to turn two volumes into one preserving the essence of both.
Regarding Cervantes himself. I'm sure he was a rockstar of his time, he obviously had a great sense of humour and was well-educated. Unfortunately, I do not see anything else in this twxt except the constant parody on knights novels. The interpretations such as that this is the first postmodernist novel, that behind the parody there is another parody on human society, etc..I see where they come from but I am not convinced at all that the writer intended his text to be this way. Some geniuses are not aware of their work's grandeur, and perhaps "Don Quijote" is a case in point.

I dont like this book, no need to elaborate.

me lo he tenido que leer como lectura obligatoria y meh, qué quieres que te diga. un clásico demasiado sobrevalorado, en mi opinión. hay clásicos mejores.

me lo tuve que leer en un dia porque no encontre el que pidieron en el colegio.

Estuvo bien, aun siendo para niños, namas pa la otra no le saquen personajes o escenas, que por eso no pude completar la prueba.

Ihan hupaisia lyhyitä näytelmiä farssien muodossa. Kieli runsaanoloista ja käännös toimii. Ajankuvaa 1600-luvun Espanjasta ja yhteiskunnan ”alemmista kerroksista” tai sit ihan vaan taviksista. Pois turha koreilu. Naiskuvakaan ei ollut täysin kapea vaan C oli antanut naisille myös järkeä ja omia mielipiteitä. Välinäytöksissä naurettiin ihmisten vähemmän imarteleville puolille. Ja kuitenkin historiallisen ja kulttuurisen etäisyyden takia en luultavasti nauranut niin usein jos olisin ollut ”sisällä” Cn yhteiskunnassa tai ainakin tuntenut sen paremmin.

Nice snacks. A small window into the Spanish life in the 1500s. I didn't know the theatre scene was so rich back then. The forewords and the Finnish translation was exceptionally good. I should have read this in the original language though.

Slowly taking my time to read English and then the Spanish, I read this intentionally while switching among different reading techniques. I've read the entire two volumes (in English, I recommend the Edith Grossman translation) a few times so I knew the stories. Slowing down to read again made me appreciate the language anew. I'm not sure how the translation played out, so I'm refraining from marking a rating. By all means, read anything that presents Don Quijote's stories. We need to understand the journeys, foolishness, idealism, and despair as we face our world today.
