An excellent read for beginning genealogists. More experienced researchers may also learn something new regarding special schedules, state censuses, etc. though there will be chunks of familiar material they can skip.

Very informative book. I particularly enjoyed the research strategy section and sections on citation of Census records. I always knew this was an important resource, but I didn't know how important or the variety of uses until I saw the sections on usage here. Probably one of the best resources available on census records. Sections on special populations, and non-population schedules had information I haven't seen anywhere else. There are lots of references to use for more specific needs, researching Indian ancestors, status census etc. Highly recommended.
