Lots of great information about health and nutrition in this book. You just have to get past some of the repetitive parts and his sub-par writing skills.
Without wanting to jump on the FTC bandwagon and call this book misleading, I would strongly suggest that this and its prequel do need very different titles, simply from a literary point of view. One chapter telling us about a few ways to prevent disease or allow the body to heal itself of disease, and the rest of the book consisting of "Dear Diary, Everyone's Out to get Me!!!" doesn't merit being called "More Natural 'Cures' Revealed". Based on the content these books should really be entitled "Why THEY Don't want ME to Tell You About Alternative Medicine" I and II.
Really, the services of a good editor do not constitute censorship. They just make what you have to say more readable. :P
Actually, I put it down. After the author referred to his website, I took note of the website, but two months later, there are more important things for me to do. It's too much work to separate what is worth looking into from what is sales talk, distortion or plain inaccurate.
For example one page says palm oil is very bad. A few pages later it says you should have palm oil every day. Another place says the vast majority of oncologists would not give chemotherapy to a relative who has cancer. Well of course. Medical ethics. Doctors don't treat their own families. There is no scientific study in the bibliography which says that oncologists have an alternative treatment for cancer which they reserve for their families. No wonder the author talks about consulting with lawyers. He writes like one. I don't need a book which is a hodgepodge of convenient scientific and anecdotal evidence overlayed with conspiracy theory. I agree that drug companies have a vested interest in the current medical model. Similarly, the author has a vested interest in selling herbal natural cure products because, apart from writing books, that is his business. But shark parts to treat cancer. Really? I think we should leave the sharks alone. This book is fun as propaganda. But it has more axes to grind than a lumber camp. I disclose that I do not receive any benefit from any drug company. The author does not disclose whether or not he gets a benefit from mentioning products in this book. So follow the money. Just because it leads to natural 'cures' does not make it any more right than if it led to FDA approved drugs.
