I believe this book is more of expanding an individual’s perspective as such ideology is very hard to implement in real life. You would definitely enjoy it if you like understanding different types of philosophies.

Interesting

In today's political climate this is an especially interesting book to read. It regards the problem of morality and what is considered moral, and whether it should be. Ayn is definitely in favor of capitalism and individualism.

Resumen de ideas de Ayn Rand, pero incompleto porque necesitas leer los libros de donde vienen las ideas para entender el contexto

I've read all of Ayn Rand's books. The sub title of my book, A rational spirituality for the 21st century' was inspired by her philosophy 'Objectivism'. Her intellectual view on life continues to inspire.

I think should read this book but once they have finished at least " The Fountainhead " and of course " Atlas Shrugged " it's a more profound book on Mrs. Rand philosophy.

A short book, to read all at once, beacuse it's also simple and to some degree simplistic. I think reality is depper and more complicated than she thpught, But her ideas are still, generally worth considering.

An interesting overview to some of Ayn Rands most persistent beliefs. Over time I've found I don't agree with Rands view of the world, but the impact of the thinking on the "Masters of the Universe" (Greenspan etc) is profound. Blend Ayn Rand with Friedrich Hayek add in a bit of Thatcher and Reagan and you have the neoliberalist mess we find ourselves in today. Importantly Rand gave the ethical justification for what Adam Smith referred to as the vile maxim, "All for ourselves, and nothing for other people".

As controversial as Rand is it can be difficult to find one of her works that is either short enough or accessible enough to make it worth a shot to anyone that isn’t already a fan. This book covers both of those categories. It is a collection of excerpts from a wide range of her catalog of writings and provides the reader with a look at the philosophy while being less offensive than others often find her to be. This collection of works is a great way to see the fundamentals and concepts that make up Objectivism and is largely free of the cult of personality that unfortunately tainted much of her life and works prior to her death. For anyone that wants to know the “why” behind some of what she said over the years, this is one of the best places to start.

Absolutely did not agree with much of the content, but this is a great assessment of the author's opinions in her own words from an array of selections. Wordy (as is her style) and disagreeable (as is my opinion), but otherwise effective in portraying her point of view.

Did Ayn Rand invent Cliff's Notes? It feels that way, with this slim volume that perfectly sums up the philosophies of her key works. Yes, you lose the story and context that surround these passages, but you also don't have to read through a combined 3,000 pagse to get to the heart of her message. This book (and her other renowned works) are as relevant today as ever.

This was an inspiring book. Its all about creating value in the real world by being intellectually sound. The world changes in proportion to its greatest thinkers.
