An oldie but goodie. This is a good starter book for people seeking to improve themselves and their life situation. Anthony Robbins is a wonderful motivator and the undisputed master of personal achievement. He will pump you up and get you going on YOUR path! If you want something more complicated, study "Neuro-linguistic Programming". Robbin's uses NLP as the foundation for his own success.

I have read all of Anthony Robbins' books and this book was foundational in getting me motivated to write a dream list 12 years ago. In that time I have achieved all of my goals except for traveling around the world. Fortunately, I still have plenty of time left for that. As a result, I would highly recommend this book.

I’ve been to three Tony Robbins conferences. I just love his energy, passion, and resourcefulness. When you’re around Tony, you feel like you can do anything.

I had this book on my shelf for six years but couldn’t bring myself to open it. Maybe I felt like I had learned all I needed to learn in his seminars. Maybe I felt like it was too long of a read. Or, maybe, I was waiting for a real Audible version (the current one is only 50 minutes long — a far cry from the 400+ pages in the physical version). I’m not totally sure.

As a side note, and as you’ll likely see if you look up comments / reviews for said audiobook, that product doesn’t even come close to doing Tony or this book justice. If you’re thinking of spending the money on the audio version, don’t. Read the physical version, attend one of his seminars, or just check out his podcasts instead.

Now, with that said, if you are thinking about actually reading this one, I have two words for you: DO IT. In classic TR fashion, this one is loaded with tons of strategies for changing behavior and overcoming internal road blocks as you pursue your goals / the life you desire.

I’ve read several hundred personal development books in my life, and no one — seriously, I mean no one — comes close Tony, in my mind. He’s so genuine, convincing, articulate, and easy-to-follow. His tactics are so relatable. And, most importantly, he’s able to break even the most complicated things down into digestible pieces so you can quickly integrate them and make changes in your own life.

The book is certainly long, but over the course of it, Robbins discusses several vital topics on the road to success: beliefs, values, communication, internal representations, taking action, NLP, the impact of physiology on our state, the keys to health, framing, and so on. Some of it is dense, for sure, but overall, it’s really, really powerful stuff.

In my opinion, I think I will be hard to walk away from this book without enjoying it or, at the very least, taking away several key strategies for improving your life. Every time I watch Tony live or read some of his content, I feel empowered. I think you will too if you check this one out.

This book is excellent... The first 400 pages are tips and concepts he covers in more detail in his seminars. But the last 20 pages of this book are so heartfelt and so moving... goodness... you have to read the book.

I can't say enough good things about a man I barely know. My father is the greatest man that ever lived to me and everyday, I strive to become someone like him. The only other person that has made a material difference on the way I live my life is Tony Robbins. If you want answers... love, living with purpose, money, health... you gotta check out his seminar. Its the best money I have ever spent.

Looooots of outdated, bunk BS in here. Also the matter-of-fact references to then-recent political and pop culture events are kind of hilarious. But really most of the book is based on NLP, which even if you didn't know it was proven to be crap is just completely ridiculous. "If someone looks to the upper left, they're using an internal visual frame of reference!" Or, you know, maybe they saw a bird. Or they keep their favorite book over there in their room.

It gets a couple stars back because there are some bits of "advanced common sense" among the bullshit, though it's not really anything groundbreaking despite what he might have you think otherwise.

I purchased this book in hopes of learning new ways to motivate people. I wanted to inspire people to do the best that they could with their lives, especially in fitness. That's always been my goal in my business, but it's not always easy to inspire people or to get them to buy in to the necessary steps to success.

Overall I really enjoyed the book. While it wasn't a book necessarily about motivating others, it was a great book on finding internal motivation for yourself. The final twenty pages were very inspiring in which Tony talks about kindness. Money and power is only good if you do the right things with it. Be kind and help others was his ultimate message and if you read anything in the book, the final chapter is worth it.

One reason I gave the book 4 stars instead of 5 is because some of the steps he recommends to motivate people require a lot of one-on-one work to practice and that isn't always possible. It's also tough to take all those steps and apply them to an individual. I get that you can do it over time if you tried really hard, but I was perhaps looking for the finer details of giving speeches to motivate. So my lack of five stars isn't the books failure but my lack of desire to work at applying such intricate skills to individuals. It came across as a full time job and I already have a couple of those.

The second reason I dropped the rating to 4 out of 5 is due to the nutrition section. He starts by talking about the controversies in nutrition and I have to say, I didn't agree with his point of view on it and the steps he suggested to take. Perhaps it works great for him, but his system doesn't work for me. He points toward veganism and I happen to not agree with it.

Some of Tony's suggestions I use regularly, like modelling. Modelling is finding a person who is successful at the things you want to be successful at, and do what they do. I've suggested this to many people.

Final Thoughts
Overall worth the read. There are a lot of gold nuggets that make it worth the price.

Fantastic book but I found it pretty chewy and I had to be in the right mood to read it. I hope to keep using the tools I've learned in this book whether it's 10 things or just one. I can already tell I'll go back and read this again in the future.

A must read if you want to improve the way you live. Despite whatever you think of Anthony Robbins, he has written a book that could change your life for the better. And thats only if you decide to do your and do the activities that Robbins has written in this book. Most of his information comes from foundation of "NLP". Neuro Linguistic Programing. What I believe you will get this from this book, well at least this is what I got from it, is that there is no such thing as failure, only results. You can be getting good results or bad ones. And if so, just change what you're doing to change the bad results (which you think are failures) into good results (success). Trial and error. If you believe you can do it anything you set your mind to. You're not your behaviors, cause you can change your behaviors. What is depression? It is merely a state you put your self into, and can easily put your self out of. And theres so much more I could write about this book, and all I have left to say is get this book. I can guarantee you, that in some way it will help you. I will definitely read this book over again, to achieve the full benefits of what Robbins is trying to give us.

Tony Robbins is one of those guys who made it big with little education. He's no scholar, has no college degree, and learned his methods (NLP from which his motivational technique "neuroassociative conditioning" came) as a self-taught mentee. He is one of those guys who rose to the top because of character, failure / success (which is a great motivator in itself), enthusiasm, and, of course, power. His power resides in his belief, his faith that NC is valid and works. To a great degree, it does. However, what is not addressed are those millions and millions of people who are not motivated, have never been motivated, and will never be motivated to achieve. Why? These failings begin in the early years of development and are based on a great deal and subsist to a great deal to failure at an early age to receive the conditioning needed. According to Robbins, only about 10% of those who listen to his tapes / CDs all the way through. He doesn't even mention how many who listen actually learn the methods / techniques therein and apply them on a consistent, ongoing basis. A major problem with the self-help industry, a problem I will take on through my product Give and Grow Yourself Rich and its follow up courses, seminars, coaching, and, most importantly, follow ups. ie: what are you doing now? Have you applied the techniques? How successful are you? And so on. Follow up and questioning to adjust where deficiencies lie is essential to anyone's success. Nevertheless, if you are able to apply what Robbins' preaches, you will improve, for his methods are sound and applicable to the lives of most.
