Good twists and turns

Dick Francis's books are so diverse in topics that you can't.help but learn something new on a subject you had no idea would be fun to learn. Another great read!

An early Dick Francis with an interesting insight to racing in Norway. Classic murder mystery with all the elements to add excitement and intrigue. Well written.

I've read it before but it had been many years. Dick Francis writes wonderful novels and Slay Ride is no exception.

ok but not the best Dick Francis by some way. All characters are thin, even our hero.

And seriously, what's with the dancing encounter and the clothes on "pleasuring" of the lady. Just wierd and not relevant at all to the plot.

When Jockey Robert Sherman goes missing in Norway , British investigator David Cleveland is called in to action. A fast paced and entertaining mystery. Action packed.

Yes, Dick Francis' writing is rather formulaic, but I keep reading and enjoying them. What a talent to produce one a year.

Interesting mystery

Three and a half stars. I didn't like the main character as well as I have in other Dick Francis books. I loved Erik and Odin, his dog. The mystery was good but it had a sad ending.

I enjoyed this rather cozy thriller. The Jockey Club detective was in so much danger, the book stayed exciting! I liked the many references to Norway's culture.
