I was disappointed

I certainly didn't remember any inappropriate content in her books that I read years ago, so I was very disappointed to have it in this book. I had to skip pages because i don't intend to read that kind of garbage. It is never necessary to tell a good story. Hopefully the author does not repeat that inappropriate stuff in other books or I sure will be disappointed that I bought so many of her books. I certainly will not buy any more if she has lowered her standards.

3.5 stars for this story of a mother’s love and sacrifice. However, I have to stay, the romance was very very cringy!

Having cried through most of the book, such a touching story of 3 generations of hardworking women i relate most to Christina. Loved the book cant wait to read more of these type of trilogies and get enchanted.

An uncomplicated family saga. The story unfolds easily without too many characters or complex plot. Satisfying in that everything comes together neatly but not overly predictable. An enjoyable read

An enticing tale with human nature portrayed brilliantly where bonds of not only romantic love but parental and even friendship where each had its own gala. The attention to detail in every point was presented simply making the reader curious about the smallest detail. A beautiful story.

Dans a même veine que L'Espace d'une vie du même auteur, à lire à la suite car il permet quelques clins d'œil à l'histoire précédente. Se lit plus facilement que le précédent, belle lecture d'été.

enjoyable book, nice story, good characters

I am way behind in reviewing this book. I was disappointed that this wasn't an Emma Hart saga book. Same themes, and touches on Harte's stores. A good read.

"I nodi del destino" è un romanzo scritto da Barbara Taylor Bradford. Ho letto la versione di Mondadori uscita nel 1988 e tradotta da Roberta Rambelli che ha fatto un ottimo lavoro. Altri trope all'interno del romanzo sono: friends to lovers e age gap.
Il libro segue le storie di tre generazioni di donne: la nonna Audra, la figlia Christine e la nipote Kyle. E' la storia di come queste 3 donne in tempi e difficoltà diverse abbiano affrontato i loro problemi con grande forza d'animo. Il libro è ambientato a Londra dal 1926 al 1951, dal 1951 al 1965 e poi nel 1978.
Non pensavo che questo romanzo mi facesse emozionare così tanto. Ho provato dolore, rabbia e felicità insieme alle tre donne. Penso che la Bradford abbia descritto in maniera estremamente accurata sia il periodo che ha preceduto la seconda guerra mondiale sia il periodo di guerra. Le descrizioni della mentalità, della società e dei drammi famigliari credo siano state fatte in maniera perfetta e soprattutto realistica.
Nonostante le varie coppie di innamorati nel libro abbiano provato un amore istantaneo e a prima vista ho apprezzato come la Bradoford abbia descritto il loro rapporto non tutto rose e fiori ma pieno anche di spine e difficoltà.
I personaggi non sono perfetti, commettono errori ed imparano da essi, ma questo li rende migliori ai miei occhi perché li vedono più umani.
Libro davvero bellissimo ho pianto varie volte durante la lettura! Quindi consiglio di tenere i fazzoletti a portata di mano.
