Good book.

Still an enjoyable read but didn't live up to my high expectations. I love Jacques' writing but this book lacked continuity and felt like 2 separate stories with only a small connection at the end. There was no cohesive plot, which was disappointing since I really enjoyed the first Castaways book. Hopefully book 3 will round out the trilogy. Again...good book but could've been better.

A great second, not nearly as good as the first but still great

It's about a boy and his dog who join a pirate ship, which is being chased by another pirate ship and a privateer. It is adventurous and interesting.

hard nostalgia, quite entertaining and warm!!

Book two of one of my favorite comfort series! I've read this series so much that going through the book is more like a trip through memory lane, but the same moments hit me every single time, and will probably continue to hit me every time I read it.

Fantasy

I really liked Castaways of the Flying Dutchman, but I LOVE The Angel's Command. More swashbuckling sea adventures and such, an absolute joy to read.

The 2nd in the series. It was great!

This series I have enjoyed immensely.

Okay, so I reread this a couple days ago and had to take it down a couple stars. What really kills me is the fact that the characters are all flatter than my online chemistry textbook. They're all either "good" or "bad," when the reality is that no one can be just good or bad— maybe too much Speaker of the Dead influence?

The second problem is that Jacques goes straight ahead and kills people off. Not necessarily bad except that few characters (who died) had real personalities and depth. So it's just really annoying.

Maybe it was just so exciting the first time I read it...
