Third book about Ben and his companion dog Ned, cursed with immortality for being aboard the Flying Dutchman (but not cursed to sail it). Straight-forward YA adventure tale, rather predictable, with a melodramatic ending that was none-the-less quite sad and affecting, at least to me. Mostly a quick and nonconsequential read.
This book was a thrilling tale and kept you wanting to find out what would happen next. This is the third book in the Flying Dutchman series and it ended on quite a melancholy note with a sad and shocking event at the end. This surprised me a lot and I recommend the Voyage of Slaves to just about everyone in the class
I would have given this more stars, but I was under the impression that this was the 3rd book in the trilogy - making it the end. But, apparently there were supposed to be more? Not sure. The writing was superb and the characters and storyline also, very edge of the seat type plot and character development. But I was hoping to wrap things up!
It was good, though I didn't know that it was the third book, but since I've read the first book it still made enough sense to read it without the second book.
