Totally loving this series. Just well written story of a Jewish family in the early 1900s. Completely in love.

**This particular edition includes a forward. If you HATE spoilers, don't read the forward first...actually the whole run of this series in this edition that is an issue.

What a dear, thoughtful bit of a book, better and dearer than I remember it as a kid!

Enjoying reliving my childhood! This one is good but not quite as good as the first one. If anyone has children (especially girls) between 8 & 10 (younger if a good reader), I would highly recommend this series.

As the girls grow older, life becomes much more varied and complicated but they face it with the same loving, united spirit of family that makes them so dear.
The scene where Ella is struggling to decide which book to check out at the library, and hides Anne of Green Gables in a non-fiction section for later, is one of my favorite book-lover moments.
