In this book, Dr. Suess takes children into the world of tooth care! This book teaches all about what teeth can do, and how to take care of them so they can last a long long time. This is a great educational oportunity for students to learn why brushing their teeth is important and how strong teeth can be!

My daughter read me this book for story time tonight. It was a decent early Dr. Seuss, written even before he called himself Dr. Seuss. The rhyming was decent and the story was some what weak, especially when you consider Dr. Seuss entire body of work. A good little book for the kiddos, especially when they lose a tooth.

This book came in a set of beginner books that my stepson bought for my daughter when she was a baby and it has recently become a favorite nighttime read. It is a Dr. Seuss book written under "Theo Lesig" with illustrations that are completely different than regular Seuss. As evidenced by the title, the book talks about teeth: Who has teeth, how you get two sets and what to do and not do with teeth. Like his other books, it rhymes but it is not nearly as silly. My five year old likes it and it is a quick read.

This is a rhyming book about the importance of teeth. Students would enjoy the rhyming and the illustrations, as it is a funny, colorful story. They would also enjoy the humor that comes from characters using their teeth for things other than speaking or eating.

I would use this book when discussing hygiene in the classroom. I would try and have a dentist come in and discuss the importance of teeth and keeping them clean. I would also have students create a t-chart involving things that don't have teeth, and things that do. These things would be provided, they would just have to sort them out.

"I love it when the book says, 'Don't let you bite the dentist's hand.'"

Mama doesn't love it at much as the other Dr. Seuss books. She think that it doesn't feel the same when someone else does the illustrations. The illustrations are not bad, they just aren't Dr. Seuss.

While I like this book, I don't run and get it to read again and again like other stories.

The book is all about a young boy who is learning about teeth. Through out the book he is told all the different types of people and creature that have teeth. Also the boy is told the importance of them once you get your permanent teeth.

The main character is a young boy whose name is not mentioned throughout the book. He is young and does not know a lot about teeth. He learns all about them throughout the book. There are also a bunch of random not important characters. Some of them being a policeman, a zebra, a lion, a red headed uncle, and smiling Sam the crocodile.

The story does not have any specific setting. The book is all over the place for location wise and it all takes place within one day. It shows the boy who has teeth and who does not. Some of the places they go are the ocean, his house, and the woods.

I would recommend this book to anyone my age who needs a quick book review because it took me around one minute to read it. I liked it because it reminded me of all the children books I used to read when I was younger and I think it would do the same for other people. Otherwise I would recommend it to young children so they can learn the importance of teeth, Around the ages two through five.

A boy walks into a room and asks his dad who has teeth and the dad responds for him to explore. As he goes to explore he realizes policemen, zebra, and unicycle riders have teeth. He also travels to Egypt and see's that camel riders have teeth and camels do too. He goes on to realize that you can find teeth almost anywhere. They are in the mountains, underground, and even in a lion's mouth. He then says why they are important, such as to aid digestion. They also look good when you smile. He then finds animals that don't have teeth such as snails, jellyfish, and clams. This book has a cute message on why you should take care of your teeth but it does have negative stereotypes/misrepresentations. Like on the page in Egypt they have what looks to be white characters portraying to be from there. It also showed how people missing their teeth are stupid/dumb which i found odd because anyone can lose their teeth and not be dumb.

1. Personal Reaction: This book made me laugh all the way through, like most Dr. Seuss books do! I loved the bright illustrations that covered each page. Beginning readers will love reading this lighthearted book because of it’s goofy tone and intriguing illustrations.
2. Purposes/use in the classroom:
-Read aloud to make a curricular connection: Teachers can use this fun book to entertain their students and to teach them about an important part of our mouth-teeth! This would be a fun book to incorporate with a lesson about different parts of our body and how we use our teeth/why teeth are important.
-Independent reading: Kindergarten-1st; Students who are beginner readers would love this book. It includes rhyming as well as pictures to go along with the text, which can help beginners identify words and show them that reading is fun. Each page contains short sentences to help beginners become familiar with reading.
-Literary elements: This book can be used to teach children theme such as the importance of keeping their teeth strong and healthy. It teaches students that other animals have teeth as well and that everyone uses teeth for different things.

The Tooth Book by Dr. Seuss (writing as Theo. LeSieg) is so, so weird. And the drawings are quite terrifying to me. Christopher doesn't seem to mind them. It discuss the uses for teeth, but in very strange ways. Like opening bottle caps with your teeth! I do like the part about loosing teeth and growing grown up teeth, but otherwise, I'm not a fan of this book

Teeth are much in style and very worthwhile! Very good introduction to the value of teeth whether you are a trapeze artist or a crocodile. Also includes things you should not do with them, like gnawing trees and biting the dentist.
