This book is a poem and many kids find it humorous. The illustrations are amusing and are part of the story line, they help the story. Most love this book because of the adventures that the Cat brings to the brother and sister. He destroys the house, but he brings the siblings together. It is a fun way to introduce poems and rhythm.

I really liked this compilation of stories, and especially loved Dustin Hoffman reading Horton Hears a Who, and Ted Danson reading The Lorax.

Of course we read all the Dr. Seuss books when I was a kid. They got so worn out from various children in our family reading them. I have a boxed set of Dr. Seuss's Beginner Book Classics. I so wish I could have kept The 500 Hats of Bartholomew...(Is that the name?)

“The Cat In the Hat” is one of my favorite books that I have ever read growing up as a child. The book was originally published on March 12th, 1957, even though it took almost 40 tries to get the book published. The book is written by the author Dr. Seuss, a famous and well known children’s author. The reading level of this book is grades K-3. There are a total of 73 pages, and 1,621 pages in this book. The Cat in this book was the protagonist in the story, the cat tries to trick the children to do things their mother already told them not to do in the house and outside of the house while she is busy at work and the children are left alone in the house with this cat.

I think that it is a really good book because it is about 2 kids who are home alone with their pet fish on a rainy day with nothing to do while their mom was working then a cat with a big hat came in and was playing games with them. It is for little kids.
