Great tutorial in XHMTL and CSS. Very practical. I'm a big fan of Head First books. They're not references, but give you a foundation to dive into a technical area with some confidence and knowledge of resources required to further pursue that area. How HTML and CSS are used has changed over the years and this book will give you a contemporary viewpoint as well as the history and insight into why other ways of using HTML/CSS didn't work. There're many sample exercises you can do on your own and it's a quick read.

I haven't read the whole thing, but it has been a valuable introduction and reference. I'm hoping to use this book to teach some HTML to my daughter this summer.

Really clear and thorough guide. Actually kind of fun to read, and the exercises are well written. Definitely one I'll need to revisit for review purposes.

I loved this book! I consider it to be "The Idiot's Guide to the Idiot's Guide" of HTML books. Explained things very well for me and helped me actually figure out what I was doing!

This is an excellent series for getting into a new subject, getting your hands dirty, and getting down to business.

Enough fun to keep you going, and enough technical info to keep you learning.

This was actually a really great book for learning the basics of webdesign - the tutorials are paced well for beginners (like myself).

Good book on how to write standard web pages, and design them.

Probably the best textbook I've ever been assigned - easy to follow, engaging, valuable exercises.

Pro: Excellent use of learning styles, good reasoning behind instructions.

Con: The same material could have been presented in about 1/3 less pages.

I will use this as a course outline for teaching XHTML with CSS. There is no better book than this for beginners to coding for the web.

I am currently using this book as a lesson book for Grade 12 students for the second time. The authors understand how people learn and apply it to this book. I cannot imagine a better book for learning the basics of XHTML and CSS.

Has this book fallen apart for you? The publishers seem to have used a non binding glue. No matter, it is easier now to use as separate pages.

If there are any educators out there, I am happy to share some insights on how to use this book as a lesson outline, with exercises and activities.

It is a really good book for web development beginners. However, I would recommend going to a book which has explained HTML5 (the most recent one).

These "Head First" guys have nailed the way books should be written.. This book explains HTML/CSS is such a way that even a 5 year old could get it and start building websites..

Uno de los mejores libros que he visto nunca sobre html, pero con diferencia, aprendes de forma correcta html y css siguiendo los estándares muy fácilmente y te sorprende como cobra sentido todo.

Realizado con mucho cariño con ilustraciones, explicaciones, diálogos y personificaciones de cada propiedad, etiqueta, etc, que te hacen pasar un buen rato y entender hasta la más ínfima diferencia y característica de tu web.

Una lástima que no esté en español porque podría ser libro de cabecera para muchos que por el idioma nunca accederán a él.
