Immediately after my third time through J.D. Salinger's classic, The Catcher in the Rye, I also read Spark Notes Study Guide as companion, of sorts, in an effort to gain a more complete perspective and an even better understanding of the text. Definitely helped, like a tour guide, and made me think.
