One of the better books of this series IMO.

really loved this book. I am hoping that Nyroc can become a friend of Soren. I felt bad for him having Nyra as a mother. I can't wait to see what the rest of the series unfolds.

It wasn´t bad but I miss the old group. Nyroc is a nice, interesting owl but this book was so fast, I couldn´t really enjoy his story so far. However, I am curisou to see what happens next. It is promising.

More like a 3.5. I enjoyed it, but didn't have as much action as the previous novels. I am curious about what lies ahead for Nyroc, though.

My son loved these! He read them in about 3rd grade. I didn't share his love, but then I'm an adult and I experienced the story from a totally different point of view (I mean, fighting owls??! It was hard for me to get into.) I was willing to let him read whatever it took to get him to reading fluently and I was just happy to see him immersed in a book.

This was a surprisingly nuanced book about growing up in, and escaping from, a violent white-supremicist cult.

I mean. Not what I was expecting. Not what I was expecting -at all- but seriously well done.

I think this is one of the best books of the series. I also think I might like Nyroc more than Soren.

this book is literally about a child of fascist dictators who rejects that life and explicitly calls out his mother’s fascism, like, goddamn

i liked this book probably more than the rest of the series because it was written about the enemy POV and not the Guardians' POV like the rest of the series. I also thought it was creative that the author included the new "Fire-sight" that will cause dramatic change if Nyroc ever made it to the Great Tree

A unique point of view made for a fascinating novel.
