i really enjoyed this book. if i didn't have to sleep, i would have finished it in one sitting. anyway, the hero was an earl who always got his way and he got taken down a peg by a sassy, outspoken (aka bigmouthed) governess. i stay away from stories with tots and orphans and children, but i really liked how the author included the kids into the story.

This book was a refreshing change from the simpering airheaded main H. She was bold, daring, outspoken and brash. I liked her. The same can be said about the main h too. Put both together and it was sparks every time they met. Storyline was very well done, lots of fun turns, tension and caring of others. I like the way secondary characters were used and will be featured in the rest of the series. Great read. Lots of fun.

I like this book. There were some element that irked me, but they weren't so big or elemental to ruin my pleasure in reading this book. What I hated was that the hero was addressing the heroine by her last name without any "Miss" etc. It just didn't click and was totally unsuited for a regency book. There were sparks between heroes and they behaved in an understandable manner. All in all I can't say it would be my favourite, but it was nice reading it.

Very enjoyable, though not entirely smooth.

The characters are OK, quite strong, in some parts even tends to be hyperbolic in my opinion.
The heroes are lovable, although the depiction of their stubbornness seemed too much for persons who was suppose to be smart etc.
The antagonist, on its term, was written bluntly villainous.
So with those poles of characters, the whole picture looked a bit like an afternoon cartoon for kids, where the princess wore pink, the knight wore blue, and the villain wore black.

But then again, we read these books as light entertainment, so the book is satisfying in a sense, and I'm looking for the next.

Thought it was a cute story! Loved reading about the children's antics and then their transformation, and the chemistry between the hero and heroine. The grandfather was really sweet. Highly recommend reading this book!

This was a fast paced enjoyable book, but there were quite a few plot devices that I can't stand: men who refuse to understand the meaning of the word no and secret keeping. While I enjoyed how Anthony grew because of his acquaintance with Anna, his stubborn refusal to listen to her when she said no to things was unpleasant. Also, I could not stand Lady Putney; she tried to use the children for their wealthy, which is precisely why her son did not leave them in her care. She lied to Charlotte to help further her designs on the children. I loved how attentive, firm, strong, and gentle Anna was. She was a great character. And I really liked her friendship with Charlotte. I enjoyed seeing Charlotte finally stand up for herself and claim what she wanted, Rupert, Anthony's cousin. This was enjoyable and I look forward to more from this series and this author.

i feel like the relationships between the MCs were not developed well enough but i do adore the kids (tho the same thing could be said for them, where i wish the way the kids open up and become closer to the MCs were more elaborated as well)

This was a fun read, where a stuffy-almost-set-in-his-ways man inherits 5 children, who are evidently the devil's spawn. So he needs a governess that is going to take the hellions in hand STAT!! Of course the lion tamer he hires is a bossy bit of baggage that has fallen on hard times and had to take governess positions to help support her and her grand-pa. BTW, Grand-pa almost took over the story, he was such a fun character and I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
