It is an amazing book. It is my first book about drawing and perspective and it explains everything very clear. The only complicated thing is by the end when the author explains mechanical perspective. Besides that, everything is perfect. I love how after every chapter it gives us activities to practice! I love how every lesson is also drawn.

This book was published in 1939. It’s a practical and straightforward written book on perspective in your drawing. He gives examples and even challenges for you to work on. I found it easy to follow and better to understand. Eye level is described more as above the water and below the water, which gives you a good vision. Also using blocks, “T” directions, etc help you to see the picture better, especially on cylinders, pyramids, etc.

I enjoyed the simple and practical way this book is written.

Even though the introduction to the subject is a little bit too long and redundant, despite the will to introduce the user to the lexicon and frame of mind, the book is incredibly good. This is the version revised in the 1939 and republished in the 1999, but nonetheless certain things never changes and if someone is good at teaching you those things, their ways are always the best.
I've found a lot of example very useful and the visuals here are veru good. A single illustration can drive you in the right way and this is what I wanted. Honestly, I've scanned some pages and pinned them on my wall while exercising - yes, they are that good.

For the price, it's utterly good and I recommend it.

Great intro to perspective, less mechanical. Great book before Scott Robertson

Well-written explanations so far, highly recommended for beginners in perspective.

But, I would more recommend to watch a video if you want to study perspective or other "how to draw" things, since it more easy to understand. There's a lot of it.

Perspective is one of the most essential skills that every artist should master.

Good introductory book. I'd say it falls short of the wide breath of perspective technical skill an artist will require, but if used as a "perspective handbook" it can be quite useful.

This is the book I should have read when I started drawing. It's the fundamentals of the fundamentals and I think every artist should have a copy.
Tbh I'm still struggling to draw perspective stuff freehand and I learned that accurate proportions are my main nemesis, but hey it's a step forward! I'm feeling a lot more confident to tackle Scott Robertson's behemoth of a perspective book now.
Late tho.
Later.

It’s been a while since I learned perspective and I wanted to touch up on some of the key concepts before working on a project. This book was recommended by another old book that I’m reading at the moment and did fairly well in covering all of the aspects. Some were just lightly brushed upon, hence 4/5 stars, but if you’re working to learn perspective, it will do a more-than-sufficient job at teaching you. Or as a refresher, in my case.

Not the best book if you're looking for a perspective-specific read.

It has a very old-school (the book was published in 1939) approach to teaching: explanations are lacking, fonts and illustrations used are not good enough and add up to the feeling of uncertainty.

Consider other books mentioned in the comments.
