This is a story about a girl who has a magic finger. Whenever she gets upset her finger begins to hurt and ends up casting a spell on the person who upset her. In this story it ends up being these brothers she's friends with and their dad. She ends up putting a spell on them and then things become fun.

I have to say it was a very cute short story. I really enjoyed this one. I loved everything that happened after the spell was casted on her friends and their family. It was very silly but I thought it was a fun concept.

If you're a fan of Roald Dahl I would recommend it. It's short and won't take you that long to read. It's very quick and is funny.

As a vegetarian, I highly support this story!

This is a funny little story about a little girl with an unexplained "magic finger" and what happens when she gets angry. The moral of the story is killing animals for fun is wrong. The story is pretty simple and there's not enough here for me as an adult reader. I missed this when I was a kid and probably would have really liked it. I plan to gift it to my nephew who likes violent video games and toy weapons. I had to tell him NOT to shoot his toy bow and arrow into the tree and why. Perhaps he'll listen better to Roald Dahl for fear of being turned into a squirrel.

No estoy segura de haber reseñado algún libro de Roald Dahl alguna vez, pero lo cierto es que sus historias me acompañaron en gran parte de mi infancia y atesoro lindos recuerdos de éste autor. Tuve que leer "The Magic Finger" para una de mis materias del profesorado, y a pesar de ser una historia super corta, me pareció entretenida y cómica. Es de esas lecturas a las que uno recurre cuando aparece la famosa "resaca lectora". No es nada que requiera demasiada atención, se lee fácilmente en un suspiro, y de cierta aporta algo, al menos a la variedad. Tiene valiosos mensajes especialmente destinados a quienes todavía se están formando tanto en la literatura como en la vida, lo cual considero importantísimo. Roald Dahl es la clase de autor que le recomendaría a cualquier chico.

ماجرای یه دختربچه‌ است که اگه کسی خیلی اذیتش کنه یا کار خیلی غیرمنصفانه‌‌ای بکنه و این خیلی خیلی عصبانی بشه، انگشتشو می‌گیره سمتش و بعد، اتفاقای جادویی خارج از کنترلش میفتن واسه اون آدم. (مناسب برای بعد از سروکله زدن با آموزش دانشکده)

امیدوارم رسالتِ یادآوریِ داشتن این انگشت جادویی رو به بچه‌ها فراموش نکنم.:))

یه‌کم حکم اخلاقی می‌تونه برداشت بشه ازش مثلا در مورد گیاه‌خواری و اینا که خیلی مطمئن نیستم خوبه یا بده.

Interesting commentary on firearms and animal welfare.

I wasn't terribly fond of this one. Clearly Dahl was going for an anti-hunting message, but the story lacks pizzazz. The illustrations look like a third-grader's work. It would be fun, though, to have a magic finger you could point at people and turn them into animals.

This book was just about everything. Cool, funny, different etc. I absolutely loved it!

רואלד דאל מעביר את מסריו (בסיפור הראשון, למשל: לא להתאכזר לבעלי חיים) בשפה עשירה ובהומור מושחז.

The child with the magic finger, getting revenge at those who anger her.
One day the Greggs -her neighbors- go too far, and the little girl turns her Magic Finger on them. When she's very, very angry, the little girl's Magic Finger takes over. She really can’t control it, and now it's turned the Greggs into birds! Before they know it, the Greggs are living in a nest and having troubles living, sleeping and being besieged by the ducks! Very funny and entertaining.
It's a moral story, very educating. Had fun listening to it.
Roald Dahl is definitely one of my favourite authors of all times.
