This book is the first John Saul book I read and I read it at a very young age and fell in love with John Saul and this genre. I have read this book several times and would pick it up again to read it. Although John Saul is one of my favorite authors, his books are very similar but this one is definitely one of my favorite.

What a great read this was. I own four of John Sauls books and had them on the shelf for a while unread so decided now is the time to give him a try with this novel.

This is quiet small town horror, nothing over the top in terms of gore or death but had me intrigued and loved all the characters. It revolves around a wealthy family, a mine which over the years seems to cause its fair share of "accidential" deaths and an Indian legend of the "water babies" who can be heard crying..when the wind blows.

Really really enjoyed this.

One of my favorites from John Saul. The characters are well developed and the plot is incredibly engaging. A must read for John Saul fans.

One of the things about john Saul's books is he seems to have children as the main characters.I personally enjoyed the character Miss Edna in this story, although the whole book was good. The wind was the culprit in this story, when it blew people changed.

Nowhere near as dreadful as Punish the Sinners, Cry for the Strangers, or Comes the Blind Fury. It still sucks though.

I read this book many years ago (early 80's). According to the records I've always kept of the books I've read, I thought this book was good. In my early teen years I read mostly all horror books.

Awesome read

The big question is who is the real looney. Saul weaves a mystery and horror in a way that keeps the reader guessing. I am sad to hear that such a masterful story teller retired.

Haven't read early John Saul since I was a teenager. Can't remember hardly a thing other than they scared me at the time and contributed to my love of horror. I can't imagine any of his books would have the same effect on me now. John Saul just isn't that good of a writer, even all these years later, I don't think he's gotten any better.

Look, if you read enough horror fiction from the 1970s on, then you've already read this book before. Trust me. You've probably read it two or three times. The authors and titles may be different, but it's still the same book. Now, does that mean "When the Wind Blows" is not enjoyable in a comfort-food kind of way? Not at all. I had enough fun with it to keep reading. Even though, as stated, I have read this book two or three times already. As you have too. Nothing new here. And it's not even done all that well. But it serves its purpose, I guess.

Me encantó la trama, historia sencilla pero que mantiene el suspenso hasta el final.
