Why-oh-why didn't Janet go into a little more detail about Steph's 'escapade' with Ranger? Darnit, I wanted more info than that! LOL! That's okay. He's still just as hot as ever. I enjoyed the story, but it still seems strange, the situation between Joe and Steph. Why is it that he can't accept wholely who Steph is and what she does for a living? Would he feel the same if she was a cop? If you ask me, the attitude is a selfish one, and he's really starting to piss me off. Wonder what the next story will bring. I adore this series, and thank everyone who turned me on to it. THANK YOU!!!

Out of all the Stephanie Plum books, so far, I think this has the scariest villain.

Reread-April 2018. The Plum’s neighbor asks Steph to find her granddaughter. This leads Steph through terrifying encounters with a bunny and a bear. It’s scarier than it sounds. Meanwhile she and Morelli are separated. Enter Ranger. Hubba hubba!

Stephanie is on the hunt again, but this time not just for people who have skipped bail, but also for the missing granddaughter and great-granddaughter of her parents' next door neighbourhood who has skipped on a child custody bond (for no pay, naturally). In addition to getting help from the usual crew--Lula, Ranger, and Morelli (not much from Grandma Mazur, unfortunately), she also gets help from a rather poor lawyer named Kloughn (sounds like clown), but the sinister Addie Abruzzi is after her, and she is chased by a "rabbit" and other masked nefarious types.

While I didn't find this as funny as some of the others, if costumed creeps adding the the general mayhem that is Stephanie's career is something you'll find funny, by all means try this book out if you haven't.

Great read, whenever I'm overwhelmed I read a Janet Evanovich - book. My days aren't nearly as bad as Stephanie Plum. I consider them candy reads, or should I say Tastykake. This one was a heck of a jaunt, but tied it up a little too neat and quickly.

Eight and out, at least for now. The eighth book in the Plum saga. This is an easy read; hence it only took me less than a day to read it. It's not bad. Better than several of the others. The best part was when "Rockford" (The Rockford Files) was briefly mentioned about keeping a firearm in a cookie jar (page 222).

I don't see myself reading anymore of Plum's exploits. They (the books) are turning out to be the same as previously mentioned. I thought I was going to have to read one or more to see how this story ends but all in all the story is wrapped up in the last couple of pages.

If you are looking for something to read this isn't too bad.

After eight books, many series tend to start getting boring and formulaic. But what I've come to realize is that the books in this series are just getting better and better.

In this story, Stephanie is still struggling with her usual ridiculous antics trying to round up FTAs, but they're more of a side plot. The main story is that Stephanie is trying to track down a woman and her child that have gone missing from the Burg as a favor to her a neighbor, who happens to be the grandmother of the missing woman. It really showcased Stephanie's big heart, which is a running staple throughout all of the books. It's what sets her apart from her arch-enemy who is also a bail bondswoman, Joyce Barnhardt (who has no heart).

It wouldn't be a Stephanie Plum book if it didn't involve the usual plot devices - shady characters following her/random people breaking into her house/at least one car blowing up/smoking hot sexual tension between at least one of the two sexy men in her life/Stephanie making at least one effort at exercise/rolling around on the ground with at least one FTA.

These stories are funny as hell, and I'm always thoroughly entertained while reading. There's a lot of action, and since there's a lot going on, there's absolutely no chance of getting bored. The pace is consistently fast and there's a lot of witty banter between the characters. Since Stephanie's sister is back in town, the Plum family is operating at peak dysfunction, including Grandma Mazur, who is absolutely one of the most amusing characters in the entire series. But just because there's a lot of funny parts, there's also some serious aspects to the story as well - Stephanie's ongoing relationship issues with Morelli, for example.

I've clearly fallen for this series hook, line and sinker, and already have the next two lined up to read.

Stephanie Plum is at it again. This time she is looking for a single mother and her daughter who have fled the jurisdiction where her ex-husband is around. While she is looking for the two, she is being hunted down by a bad guy who has her in his sights. Meanwhile, she is trying to bring in a bond-jumper who has committed felony domestic violence and has her hands full. Nice mix of characters and storylines.

That Janet Evanovich is one nasty-minded lady. Her books are always laugh-out-loud funny and such a great diversion from the darker books! The crazy situations that Stephanie Plum gets herself into.... ha!

I'm thoroughly enjoying this series. I know it's a long series, but it's the kind of series you don't want
to end. Getting to know Stephanie Plum, her family and friends on a deeper level, draws the reader in. I've been listening to the unabridged audio books. It's easy to listen to these while cooking and cleaning or even exercising. Next up...#9

Stephanie is looking for a mother and her daughter. The problem is someone else is also looking for them and he's not so nice.

With the exception of the language and sexual scenes, I like these books.

"I feel kinda of tingly," says Kloghn. "That's because you zapped yourself with my stun gun," says Stephanie.

Killer Geese, Mutant Spiders, Creepy Bunnies were just a few weird characters.

"Friends take Xanax to help sleep, I take mac and cheese," says Stephanie.

I especially liked the scene that Stephanie and LuLu tried to babysit. Emphasis on "tried."

Funny & entertaining.

OMG! Hard Eight had me laughing out loud a lot! Stephanie Plum is at it again after an FTA (Failure to Appear) for her bounty hunting job. She is also helping a neighbor whose daughter and granddaughter are missing.

Stephanie still has the love triangle with her, Morelli and Ranger and she owes a debt to Ranger. This all adds so much interested to all the incidents that befall Stephanie in this book. She is being hunted by another crazy person, Abruzzi. She has an FTA that she has trouble catching.

I loved when Vinnie and Stephanie go after the FTA. Those two are hysterical together. The lines they say to each other just had me laughing.

The chemistry between Stephanie and Ranger just had me laughing and rooting for him. The chemistry between Stephanie and Morelli had me picturing Morelli rolling his eyes and wanting to laugh at her. I am glad I have decided to stick with this series. I hope it continues with the laughs!!
