Muy divertido

This is such a funny and clever short story. It was much fun to read. Kids will have a good time figure out the backwards words. They can even try writing their own short story using “back-to-front” dyslexia for a fun activity.

The Vicar of Nibbleswicke, the story of a man with a kind of verbal dyslexia, is about overcoming adversity. It’s the last thing Dahl wrote, published in 1991, the year after his death. A short, perfect artefact, laugh-out-loud funny and illustrated by Dahl’s long-term collaborator Quentin Blake, all proceeds went to the Dyslexia Institute.

Very funny! I liked the part where he is at the meeting and tells the ladies to pis their coffee so they don't burn their tongues.

De Dominee van Dreutelen is een leuk kortverhaaltje dat geschreven is voor de Dyslexia Organisation. Het hoofdpersonage uit het boekje is dan ook zelf iemand die dyslexie heeft, maar hij heeft geleerd om vrijwel normaal te kunnen lezen. Dat valt echter in het water als hij zijn eerste plaatsing als dominee aangeboden krijgt, waar hij helemaal alleen verantwoordelijk is voor een hele parochie. De spanning brengt zijn dyslexie terug, en dat zorgt voor de grappige taferelen die in het boekje voorkomen.

Zeker een aanrader om te lezen.

Such a cute children’s story. Roald Dahl wrote this book for the Dyslexia Institute and gave them the copyright to it as well.


In this book the new pastor gets words mixed up and says them backwards. Everyone realizes it but him. I have laughed so hard this morning at the crazy things he said.

Friend suggested I give this a read when I said I was re-reading a few of Roald Dahl's classics. I'd never heard of it before so my interest was piqued. It was a funny little story, that I'm sure I would of enjoyed more if I had read it when I was little.
