This book is hilarious. Definitely written from Ernie's perspective, which makes him and his friends seem more like adults than kids. But very good, and clean, overall.
I think kids, especially boys or kids who love animals would enjoy this book. It is funny, although I did find it unrealistic, which might be purposeful to make it more humorous. It also teaches lessons in friendship and forgiveness. The audio narration is really good. There is more than one person that does the voices and there are sound effects.
I used to check this book out all the time from the library when I was a kid, but I never got around to actually reading it. It’s a unique plot with kids running a pet funeral business. It turned out to be more heartfelt than I originally thought.
