Not as good as the first novel - more of a filler novel so not much happens. Not a bad book just not enough substance to rate.

Fun story about a young Jack Sparrow. If you love Pirates and Jack, then this is a fun read about the start of the story of how Jack became Jack. I like how they’re separate but continue the story well and connected

This book is not as good as the first book in the series. It mostly consists of the crew members being dazed by the song of the mermaids and Jack trying to get them out of their situation. There isn't a lot of movement in the book and there isn't much of a plot. It only moves the story along slightly. Hopefully the next book in the series will be better.

This one was actually more engaging and enjoyable than the previous book...I'm looking forward to reading the next one in the series.

The second book in the Jack Sparrow series by Rob Kidd. After escaping from the torrent, they set sail again on the ship Bernacle to find the Sword Of Cortes. A lot of unusual things happen along the way. Jack Sparrow hear a song from somewhere. Only he can clearly hear the song. The song drives his crews crazy. The song was sung by Merfolk. He meets them and comes to a decision and resumes the journey. A story for young children

This adventure paled compared to the first. I still enjoyed it, but a great majority seemed like conversational filler. The end, however, made up for the long stretch of inactivity with a great deal of creative, intriguing action.
