Fun story about a young Jack Sparrow. If you love Pirates and Jack, then this is a fun read about the start of the story of how Jack became Jack. I like how they’re separate but continue the story well and connected

I like these stories a little better than the first third. I’m not sure how to explain why, I just do lol

The best part about this book was the twist at the end. The rest of the book was only slightly interesting to me.

"I rather resent your implications, implicating that I was implicit and what not..." Yep, Jack Sparrow! Talkative as ever. This is the character that made the movies so enthralling and the reason why i enjoy reading this series too... With the drama around the Sword of Cortes completed, this volume sets the tone for a new adventure surrounding a mysterious amulet. While the adventurous theme remains the crux of the story, it falls short in a few places where things happen too quickly and abruptly, not allowing the reader to fully enjoy the drama that is unfolding. The banter between the crew members is not as interesting as it has been in the previous books of the series. Though Jack Sparrow continues to remain a delight as always, making the book an enjoyable read overall. Hoping the reamining books of the series will continue to take the readers on joyous fun-filled adventures...

I loved this book. It contains the good suspense, the hard to predict conclusion, and a funny crew. For people who love the Pirates of the Caribbean, you would like to read the whole series of this book. In addition, there's cliffhangers, twists, and even some important parts to discover the truth of this mystery.

I read this entire series when I was a preteen or young teenager. I LOVED each and every one of these and I waited impatiently for each new installment.
Being an avid Disney fan and the POTC ride in Disney World is my favorite, and the POTC movies were among my most-watched movies, I could not contain myself when my dad found these for me in the book store.
Although I have not read them in years, I remember them fondly and I strongly recommend them to anyone who likes pirates, tie-in novels, or just exciting adventuress. I think these would be a hit for reluctant readers as well (even though I did not classify as a reluctant reader, these grab you quickly and are pretty easy to get into).

I liked how he blamed them for taking the amulet that his family had for hundreds of years just because it came up missing the first time they have every been there

A fun addition to the world of Pirates of the Caribbean, this series is meant for the older elementary school reader though could be enjoyed by the younger middle school reader who enjoys Jack Sparrow. The story follows young Jack Sparrow and his crew on their adventures through the Caribbean and each book clearly connects to the one before. Since this is the fifth one in the series, it wraps up the previous story and begins another though it was also able to be a fun read without any previous knowledge except of who Jack Sparrow is.

There are some suggestions of violence and other things but done in the same spirit as the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, so not terribly realistic and with a comedic spin on them. This series is a definite must for a younger child who enjoys pirates and is looking to read shorter chapter books that move quickly.
