One of his older novels NOT featuring Stone Barrington. Chuck Chandler is an almost Wimbledon champion, but ends up choking and has that stigma following him everywhere he goes. He becomes involved with a tennis pupil despite the fact that she is already married to a VERY rich man; and ends up becoming framed for a lot of murders.
3 stars out of 5 - I read this over the past couple of days. It's an easy reading combination police procedural and mystery novel. Entertaining and easy reading, but not the top of Woods' form.
I think that I have to read this one again since it seems to be liked much better by others than I and I hear it is becoming a movie. I think that it is a very male book, so I will attempt to read it from a male perspective. Then I will revise my review and be more in depth in conveying my thoughts.
I give all Stuart Woods books a 4 out of 5. His books aren't deep or unique, but are always page turners. When I'm want to read something light on vacation or I'm sick of TV and I can't watch another episode of Law and Order or CSI- I can pick up one of his crime novels and I will never be dissappointed. I'm always entertained.
