Perhaps the finest piece of adolescent fiction ever written, The Phantom Tollbooth teaches us lessons about life and grammar, love and arithmetic, heroism and common sense.  As a child I learned not to jump to conclusions;  I learned about rhyme and reason; I learned about wasting time.  Everyone  needs a book like this, lest they become complacent with mere reading.  I  am on my third copy for myself, plus every child I know has received this  as a gift from Uncle Lee...and it will continue to be so...unless someone  writes something better.  Yeah, right...Humbug to that!
