I enjoyed the first segment. next portion seemed to move into lesser appealing talk. Much more negative. just my opinion but I gave up there so do not know if it turned back around.

An easy read, no earth shattering revelations but I think it is good to read this type of book every now and again to help refocus the mind on what is and isn’t important.

This is a funny book, full of practical advice and great perspectives on life. I liked her book, Life is Not a Stress Rehearsal: Bringing Yesterday's Sane Wisdom Into Today's Insane World better, but this one was good, too.

A lot of simple life practices. Easier to talk the talk than walk how this book wants you to walk, but I do appreciate the real and optimistic approach it takes as you are reaffirmed with some better day to day wisdom.

I think someone brought this book for me for a past birthday. I found it on the bookshelf in our family room today. It looked like a fun, easy to read book so I brought it up to the tub with me early afternoon today. A few days ago I hurt myself trying to open the garage door. The door was stuck to the ice the day after a big snowstorm, but I just yanked it and felt a snap in side so have been dealing with a pulled muscle. (This makes me want to get the electronic doors fixed asap!) Anyway, a hot bath would help the endless hours of a heating pad and hot towels to my side. So I brought the book upstairs with me and read more than half of it in the tub. It was the perfect place to read this book, which was a light, relaxed read about how to deal with stress. Of course Loretta LaRoche uses humor to tell her stories. And there are simple, straightforward ways of what to “do” to have more joy. She suggests a joy journal, shouting, “I’m back!” each morning, smiling instead of frowning, and joining the party! I do have a few ideas to try to brighten my spirits and perhaps reduce a little of my stress. I am off to look up where the author is speaking as when my kids were little I heard her speak twice. Our PTO group sponsored her both times and boy did I laugh. This was a perfect read for a Saturday when I was not rushing to do much of anything and I could enjoy the author’s words of wisdom. On the last pages of her book she writes “Ten Simple Ways to Connect Today” and I plan on trying these and writing and doing a few of my own in the next few weeks. As Loretta says: "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift—that’s why they call it the present."

It was an okay self help book. It did give good advice. I had to remember it had a lot of her own opinions, so did not agree on everything. Very insightful!!

I didn't really feel there was a whole lot new here, however, I appreciated the humorous approach and a few great quotes.
